CAI, Exaust...now what?

Hey Guys,

I just installed my GMPP CAI (FUN), and I just ordered my Magnaflow exausht. My question is whats next??? I dont wanna go down the turbo road right now...is there anything else I can do to increase the performance of my 2.4?

I was told @ Texas Motor Speedway that, eventually if I want to reach Redline-ish power I would "have" to go turbo...any thoughts?

Shorty Headers and a retune of your ECM.

To get over about 210-215 HP at the crank, you'll have to go with a Turbocharger or a SuperCharger.

If you want to get near Redline, you will have to go Forced Induction.

I am not on top of things with the SKY but the general Naturally Aspirated things you can do would be ...

Headers
Cams
Pulleys
Tune

Those top 4 things are the main N/A things you can add to your power getting you most likely, if the SKY is like my Hyundai (Both ~170hp stock), roughly 200whp give or take. Granted, I do not know if the Sky aftermarket area sells cams or pulleys?

I'd also get new hotwires, braided hoses .. etc

you could always install a nitrous express wet kit. You can choose between 35hp, 50hp, or 75hp shots.....

My 2.4L Solstice loves the Nitrous....!

hmmm if i were to go turbo wouldnt i have to ditch the headers???

and as far as nitrous goes, can the internals of the 2.4 handle it? I heard they were casted not forged like the redlines...

another thing is price wise i know the cheapest turbo i could find was the Hahn @3400 for just the kit (who knows how much install would run )

how much does nitrous go for? are there and advantages over turbo

Why turbo? Why not go with the DDM Supercharger? $3,300 for the entire kit .. looks like a really good buy and I would highly recommend supercharging if you were to go F/I

I personally am not a believer in nitrous as a form of horsepower gain. Nitrous you need to refill after using at a car shop that sells nitrous, its just a quick 1 run shot for each shot you give .. will wear down your car quicker and it isn't something you'd use on the streets with traffic around which means say you have 230whp with Nitrous or 210whp w/ Supercharger... you will enjoy the supercharger much better, constant power. Nitrous kits are rather expensive too, and to refill it is quite a pretty penny
