Find a gas station with both E-85 and 91 octane and mix them 50/50.
How is this practical for a street driven car?
It's hard enough to find E-85 when you need it and then to have to use 50/50.
When I fill my tank I don't know if it's going to take 8 gallons or 10 gallons. Do I start by putting in 4 gallons of one and then 4 gallons of the other and then guess how much more it's going to take to finish filling and split that 50/50?
It's simple if you have an E85 gas station close by.
You just put in equal amounts of both.
The only inconvenience is that you need to swipe your credit card twice.
Out tanks taks almost 13 gallons.
So most of the time I put in 6 gallons of each. [93 Octane and E85]
If I am going on a long trip and am unsure if there will be E85, I bring my laptop and use HPTuners to flip to a 93 Octane tune if needed.
One thing I noticed is that when you blend either 91 or 93 Octane, you still get E47
but
When you use 93 Octane, the blended Octane results in one more octane =99
91 and E85 results in 98 Octane

Interesting calculator.
The bottom calculator says "Trying to replace premium gas in a non-flexfuel vehicle?"
What effect or issues will we have using this mixture in our non-flexfuel Skys? It shows using E85 and regular gas will get 96 octane. That would be cheaper than using premium gas. But are there any problems with rubber hoses, etc?
Our car shares many parts that the flex fuel compliant HHR has.
At the moment, as far as anyone knows, it should only be the Fuel Injectors that are the issue.

Would that make it not worth trying to save a few dollars on fuel?
I'm kinda leaning towards the WR-3. It seems that would give me a little more headroom if I decide I want more power in the future. I just wish I knew what kind of lag I'd be looking at...

More lag than stock, less than a GT 55-31
