Considering a Sky Redline - I STFA and can't find anything on R&D for a chip...

Hello All,

I am currently in the market for a new car and am considering either a Volvo S40 T5 AWD 6-speed (great lease rates right now) or a Sky Redline. I currently drive an Audi A4Q 1.8T and have my car chipped (among other things). Are there any tuning companies out there working on developing a chip for the Solstace GXP and Sky Redline (besides the facotyr GXP-R)? TIA for your help.

Welcome AthruC... You will find lots of info on chips and I believe we even have at least one supporting vendor of chips for the Sky and Sky RedLine..
If you use the search engine (perhaps words like "ECM" and "chip" will help guide you to the knowlege you seek! )

Hey RTP, I don't think anybody has a flash for the 2.0 turbo yet.

I have done a search and have only found a handfull of posts about the 2.4...

Thank you for the welcome, I hope to be owing one of these cars in the near future

Regarding the current "chips" that I have found, I am interested only in the potential of the 2.0T motor. There is GM's Solstice GXP-R w/ new headers and a retune IIRC and that puts out 300HP, but that doesn't help any of us until it actually comes out - and when it does, how much will the upgraded parts and new ECU cost? There are companies out there like Vishu Tuning who already have a (not ECU chip or flash, it's a standalone) program for the BMW 335ci, and then dozens of companies for the VW/Audi's (who had programs for the new 2.0T motor before it even came out). I am a little surprised that there's nothing for this car yet (besides a Magnaflow Exhaust it seems).

The moral of this reply is that I have searched and cannot find a single thing for this motor.

I had asked Vector (supporting vendor here) about this very issue, and they replied back to me with "it's in the works, but isn't finished yet, and won't be for a little while"

Hope that helps a little bit.

Ok sorry if I lead you astray - I do not have the R/L package so was not sure if there was any info on that

Why not contact some custom tuners in your area (wherever that may be) and they can tell you if they have the proper software to tune the SRL ECM. I know HPTuners was working on it, but can't recall if it is out yet. A good dyno tune will get you more gains than a canned "chip" tune.

I'm building a collection of different ECU tunes for the Base car, don't have any Turbo ones yet. Stay tuned, they will be in the public domain for everyone to use, or blow up their engine
