DDM Brake Upgrade

This raining so I can't go driving....time to change the brakes I started with the back drivers side...The kit had new rotors, pads, Lines, and fluid.
the first picture is the rear rotor the center was painted with ceramic paint and given 24 hours to dry...pulled the wheel and disconnected the brake line and drained into a bucket....

Brakes

The rear Caliper also has the Emergency brake built in...the cable is removed by pushing the lever back and sliding the cable out.. Two bolts hold the caliper too the housing and it comes off, You can see the Emergency brake cable end and the new brake line installed. the braided line is in Picture 2

The place that I got my cross-drilled/slotted rotors from also sold s/s brake lines. I asked about those, and they said for normal street driving, they really wouldn't make a difference. I know on motorcycles s/s lines are a big improvement over the stock lines, so I was surprised. From the one pic, looks like those rotors are slotted and "dimpled", in addition to that white ceramic coating? Along with the red calipers, must make for one colorful backdrop to the wheels...

I believe the notion with the SS lines is to avoid balooning as fluid heats up to provide a more responsive feel. A factor in street driving? That may depend on how you drive.

The reason is to avoid ballooning, the brake lines on this car will expand very quickly if you hit the brakes a few times, I will have 280WHP on this car next month and I am upgrading to support this HP....seal9

I know full well that s/s lines won't expand like stock rubber lines do, that's why I had them on just about every motorcycle I've owned over the past 20+ years. I may rethink getting some for my Sky, because they're relatively inexpensive (something like $30 per line?). With the labor to install and bleed the brakes, that might add another $100 or so to the total cost. But for around $250 to get s/s lines installed and bled, that's a lot of peace of mind. Much better to spend money on something like that than some other kind of modification (i.e. underbody neon lights, interior neon lights, fart can exhaust, gazillion watt amp, etc...)
