Dejon Pipes

Hello,

I am seriously thinking about getting the intercooler pipes and throttle body elbow from dejon.

But both RPI and Hahn stated on one of the threads that they don't see any gains from installing these pipes.

My friend who a has a speedshop and a dyno tuner also told me that adding these pipes might decrease the low end power but might add top end power....but he is not really sure unless we install them and test at the dyno. He is concerned about me having a bigger intercooler.........plus adding these pipes............that to build the boost pressure might be slower and lag will be felt.

I am willing to pay $400 for these pipes if they will improve my whp.........and not just cosmetics.

any input is appreciated.

i got them on last week, and i dont think the turbo has a problem filling them up as quick as the old ones.. it actually sounds like the air is flowing through much better

i havent noticed any gain or loss in power but they do look nice. i too can hear air rushing through the pipes. im having a problem with the hood rubbing against my right pipe though, its making a deep groove that i think might actually puncture the pipe if i dont fix it. did anyone else have this problem or know how to fix it?

Yes you will not get any gain from the pipes until you have a bigger Turbo and some higer revs.

I have noticed it slowing me down with lag.

They do look good if anything get the pipe that replaced the TB elbow that is the weakest link on the turbo setup when boosting high all the time. Since those rubbers have a tendency to balloon. It might improve your acceleration a little because the ballooning problem will be gone.

My 93 RX7 R1 had the same type of intake rubber. Once I replaced it with a Carbon fiber piece it was night and day on the instant accelleration and the longevity of the hose/pipe under high boost situations.

Lower the pipes I had to remove the plate that holds the right side of my radiator to allow the fitment of the pipe with the stock intake since the Fujita sucks.

so i guess, at the moment, these pipes are not really helpful in gaining hp..but only for cosmetics.

compdoc only recommends the elbow that leads to the TB.

thanks!

Ya, the pipes are for looks only, don't expect any hp gains from these.

As far as the TB elbow, this adds an extra clamp then the stock setup, too me this is weakening the system. I really don't think the stock elbow is an issue but if you want to add the extra clamp then go for it!

i'll be installing the dejon spring this thursday.......I think that will also prevent any boost leakage.

hopefully the stock elbow will hold on for the meantime.....until a REAL TIME TUNER is available for a bigger turbo then I'll buy these pipes

From time to time you can find a set of reinforced silicon hoses on ebay for our cars, just do a search for solstice turbo hose(its not available now though). It replaces the tb elbow and the other rubber elbow thats attached to the turbo. I would rather spend my money on that, than on a solid elbow that restricts movement of the intercooler pipes.

well, since I'll be joining different car shows in my area, I went ahead and bought Dejon pipes and DDMWorks coil and valve cover.

Hopefully, they'll be adding points during judging time
