Dyno Comparisons

Ive been asked enough times so I thought some of this info would help. Not all dynos use the same formulas to get hp/tq numbers. This info might give you an idea of how dynos can give different numbers.

http://www.turbomagazine.com/tech/03...ine_dyno_dash/

Some are more conservative with their numbers. We get a bunch of guys that ask why their cars arent making the same amount of power as they did when they dynoed elsewhere. Remember its not about the numbers, its about the improvements. If you dyno on one dyno, test and tune on that same dyno. happy tuning.

Interesting article, thanks for sharing. Goes to show that when having your car dyno do it at the same facility if possible. If at a different facility, establish a baseline before you mod--makes sense. Real surprised with the results of reporting of the different power outputs with the same car with no mods-- from a high of 265 to a low 228 I believe it was--Thats alot of difference--

Excellent article. I wonder if they all were calibrated in the same way and method. You would think that they should be closer than they are. These things are suppose to be accurate. Now I see they are only good for improvement gains and NOT true HP and TQ.
