EGT's
Just wondering if anyone on here with a boosted 2.4, or 2.0 for that matter has an EGT gauge, or has measured their EGT's. Perhaps Ecoboost can chime in here. Talking with the subaru guys they all seem to get up to an average high of 1200 f. That's spirited driving, with a hard hill. Seems high for my 2.4.... And I've seen temps on the highway, climbing a hill, around 1400..... Now I assume when I get rid of my cat that this should help... Right?

Yeah, I thought 1400 seemed high, and that's typically only climbing a long hill... The meth injection seems to really help, and the temps drop fast when you get off the throttle. But I figure my temps will read a little more accurate when the cat is gone.....

In the 2.4 cat protect doesn't even kick in until 1688 deg F.
However EGTs tend to be different for every engine and not really a good indicator of engine health. EGT's can drop with both an increase and decrease in AFR along with cam position too. If you really care about what's going on get a WB02 and forget about EGTs
