Yes l am not claiming anything so i do think you are reading it wrong.
Stop trying to convert my dyno numbers and accept them for what they are
The dyno we used said 265 wheel hp for the gmpp tune. The dyno another guy used said he got a 20 wheel hp increase when he added a cat
The dyno in question may be more power friendly than a different dyno
But
Those are the results
The dyno used for the westers tuned car said it made 287.5 wheel hp
I dont know how to explain it any better
If you cant believe these numbers then You will have to talk with the manufacturer as i did not build either dyno

My point once again
Same brand dyno
Gmpp tune + hiflo cat makes similar hp to other tune + cat
Within 10 wheel hp

If real world dyno results cant be used for this comparison then i dont have any other way to explain my point

Let me get this right, So, what your saying Elff from this post is: Trifecta, Westers, HP Tuners all make about the same power as the GMPP-Tune, is that correct?

With a HiFlow cat and gas for the fuel (adding Meth, E47 or E85 changes eveything)
Yes. Similar not the same but similar
Anyone who has logged the GMPP tune will see that it has knock retard of up to 4 degrees. That means that it is tuned fairly aggressive but still in a same place.

Trifecta, Westers, or any 3rd party can pull a little more timing and boost, but is limited as to how much due to the Octane of pump gas.

So yes similar but trifecta, wester or hpt tunes can grab some more due to customization

OK then so...back to the start of the thread...

Disclaimer: Totally new to this. Patience required.

For the GMPP tune, I need to buy the kit(?) or harness(?) containing the necessary hardware, then take it to a dealership for the software install?

Recommended merchant for hardware? Is the hardware something a (resonably intelligent) rookie can install?

As elff says; follow the directions and it'll be a piece of cake...
I install the GMPP-Tune hardware on my own (crimps) and drove very slowly to the dealer for the next step the software download. I saved at least $100. Good Luck!
