Gas Mileage???

So what kind of gas mileage is everyone getting? We have had our Sky for 3 months and have driven 8200 miles already. We are getting about 26 on average, got 30 once.

Before I traded my 2.4 got 28-29 on mixed driving, used Amoco Ultimate in the tank and Mobile 1 in the engine. Got stuck once and had to put el cheapo in, only got about 24 mpg, and took another full tank of the good stuff before I got back to the good milage

currently getting about 17 city. Hwy depends on what speed I drive. If I keep it at 80, I'll get around 26. If I drop to 70 or below I can get close to 28 or 29.

I had 22,000 miles on mine and the average per tank never dropped below 22 for me, the highest I saw on a tank was 32.
2.4 5 speed manual.
Anyone with a Automatic? what is yours...

We've settled in at between 29-30 mpg. Mostly drive it between home and work, 60-70 mph with a few traffic lights.

yeah, it was low. I took it to the dealer a couple of times but they would just give me the usual "mileage will vary...this is normal" reply. I suppose it could have just been my driving style.

I just completed a 1600 mile road trip down to NC and TN for the Tail of the Dragon run. I got a combined total of 30.9 mpg. Most of the trip (about 1000 miles) was on the Intersate at around 70-75 mph with the top-up and the AC on. The other 600 miles was mostly much lower speeds, top-down, running around the mountains and through the twisties.
Overall, I am extremely pleased with the mileage.
Just an FYI...on the open highway doing around 70 mph, top-up, and AC running I'm getting around 33 mpg!
Also, I run nothing but 93 octane fuel -- Chevron, whenever it's available.

Low of 21, max of 26+ in mixed city/hwy driving. A/C always on, I quit logging manually last month, since it was always bwt 21-26mpg. Automatic 2.4L. I don't use the DIC to monitor since to me it is not very accurate--

I kept mine manually and compared it to the DIC, sometimes it was close sometimes it wasn't but then it is hard to always fill up to the same level each time unless you fill up at the same station usung the same pump and facing the same direction. any variences in temperature when you fill can effect your manual calculation also... so I will go with the DIC because it does not matter if the car is full or not, it measures how much fuel you actually use by the number and length of the injector pulses.... then it measures the Average since the last reset, not fillup.

18-31 Mpg

I've gotten about 18 mpg in town and 31 mpg on the highway. I was getting about 18 in town and 22 on the highway. Changed to synthetic oil and have seen a significant increase in fuel economy.

Dealer only charges an extra $9 for the synthetic Castrol over the regular motor oil. Well worth the extra $ for the increase in fuel mileage and less wear on the engine.

I believe the Redlines already use synthetic oil. Do the non turbos come from the plant with regular oil?

Daily driver, just over 4000 miles, 25 miles to work - very little freeway, and that's mostly rush-hour stop and go. Running Shell premium (91 octane I think?), and consistantly getting high 20's! When I do spend some time on the freeway at freeway speeds, I typically see low 30's.

It's just as advertised. I'm pleased.
