GMPP Intake for GXP/Redline installed, making a weird noise

I just had the GMPP intake for the GXP installed, and it's making a weird sound. It's not the sucking sound of an intake, the clicking of the injectors, or the bov whistle. When I accelerate moderatly and let off, a noticable "chug" type sound is heard right before you hear the bov. I'm not the only one hearing this noise. This post talks about it a little bit. GMPP Intake, odd noise? Need help. - Pontiac Solstice Forum

Is anyone else experiencing this weird noise with the GMPP intake on the turbo models?

What you hear is the BOV - that's the normal sound of turbo with a cai!

It's not the bov I'm hearing, because it didn't make that sound before the gmpp intake. The sound can be heard a split second before the bov whistle.

With the stock intake, you can't here the opening of the BOV.

With the cai you can. chuck and a millisecond after this you hear the wistle...

It's the same, when you just remove the stock airfilter or open the airfilter box. then you csn here the chuck. If everything is closed you qwon't.

Yes it is the CBV valve (BOV) you just didn't hear the complete sound it makes before, now you can! Not to worry completely normal, you'll grow to love this sound. Thought it was strange at first but now it's awsome!

I have the Dejon intake and love it!

Hey, that was my post over there.

I've determined it is the CBV (bypass valve) chattering. It seems to bounce a little when it activates.

From what I understand, the Audis (R4 and R6) use the same K04 type turbo with different impeller wheels and they get a similar noise.

If I don't have radio on, I hear the CBV on stock vehicle all the time. Not loud. But perceptible.
