GMPP Sky exhaust

I swung by SSC to check on a member delivery and happened to catch SSC_Summit & Co playing around with a new exhaust option from GMPP. Sounds nice. Not loud. I didn't get to hear it under load on the road. Now we just need to get this thing on a dyno to see what it does. The only tidbit I could get was it's a 2 1/2 " exhaust. I happened to have my camera, so grabbed what I could in the dark service area.

Please keep us posted on this development! I'm very curious as to what the hp and tq gains will be. This will be my next investment, assuming the numbers are there

Afraid that's about all I know. Figured I'd pass that much on. I already picked up an exhaust from RPi (and love it). If I had to guess, I'd expect it to be pricier than the rest (GMPP), but as a 2 1/2 inch system probably not as much increase as the others. Pure speculation on my part here, but till someone steps up, grabs one, and puts it on a dyno, we won't know for sure.

The lift points are about where the roll over bars are. It is because that is the strongest point on the frame. If you look under the Sky they are ovals to the frame area...Skip...You can not miss them if you have common sense....

But that is still NOT the correct (recommended) lifting method. Every dealership has been supplied two aluminum pads that go in the front ovals so that the front lift arms can easily clear the front plastic side panels. At my Saturn store they have 7 lifts and four will damage Skys. And have done so. They do use the lift pads NOW!!!!

Borla????

GM uses Borla and Corsa for a number of their Cat Systems. Given that Corsa is located in Ohio and Borla in Oxnard, about 1 hour to Santa Clarita SSC, I would not be surprised if this is a rebadged Borla system.

Thanks for bringing this up. I'll check with our service manager to ensure we're following proper protocol to prevent damaging any vehicles. I am not aware of any SKYS we have damaged with our lifts but with a customers car you can never be too careful.

I bought that RedLine on Saturday the 14th! I love the exhaust it sounds and looks great!

Check this thread for my introduction and a picture of the car.. so you can see the exhaust while off the lift.

I was told those pads are only for the rear, that you lift the front using the large platforms inboard of the rail, WITH a block if necessary, to clear the plastic fenders....
