Got LS7t?

Mallett Cars says it will offer a limited-production run of the Pontiac Solstice and Saturn Sky with V8 engines.

The company, an Ohio conversion firm that specializes in high-performance versions of the Chevrolet Corvette and Cadillac CTS-V, is customizing the roadsters with the 6.0L LS2 and the latest most powerful GM engine, the 7.0L LS7. The LS2 makes 400 hp (300 kW) and 400 ft·lbf (540 N·m) of torque, while the LS7 makes 505 hp (377 kW) and 470 ft·lbf (637 N·m) of torque. At the highest end Mallett also offers a turbocharged LS7 engine that puts out 900 hp (670 kW) at the crankshaft and 750 hp (559 kW) at the rear wheels.

Who here among us doesn't fear losing their life? Step forward.

Yep. I've had my Mallett SKY (#004) since February of this year!

It is a rocket, and yet it handles even better than it originally did!

Where do you work and between what hours is your car unattended?

Can someone loan me $25,000? [I am not sure I have the testicular fortitude to handle the more powerful options ].

Over $86,000!!

Add the cost of the car itself and you could get one of the new 'Super Vettes' comming out.

Ls7 + Sky = Fun

LS7 and the SKY would be a a real hoot. Given the fact that the stock LS7 is severely detuned from the factory, a little retune would make it a beast.

LS7's are great motors, with tremendous potential. For example, Scarlett ran bone stock on the dyno 446/419. When I pick her up tomorrow I expect to see 500/480 at the wheel with just CAI, intake, headers & tune. Could go higher as the clutch package has as 10# lighter flywheel.

When I add the cam/spring package next month, she will be making 575 rwhp.

The potential is tremendous, however if you wanted to go smaller, the LS3 would be the way to go as a lot of the LS7 technology is used in these motors.

Another aspect is the weight difference between to LS2 & 7. The lighter LS7 would not increase the curb weight of the SKY as much. Lighter means faster

Any of you that have driven the LS7 will know what I am talking about, raw power

Another plus is that all LS7's are hand built, and tested before they are shipped. Total peformance.

The ultimate SKY would be if they could put the whole Z06 powertrain in the SKY, now that is something to ponder, isn't it?

I drive to the airport for my commute - all my work is out of town. The SKY stays home, comfortable under its cover in the garage.

I have the LS2, and it is more than plenty for me. This car is so light, it just screams with this V8 in it.

Besides, I don't drag race, nor do I speed excessively - especially trying to run up to top speed. I just love having this car perform like what it looks like it should. This is the first V8 I've had under the hood since 1987, and is WAY more powerful.

I hope to get a good look at it after I move to Lansing next March. Anyone thought of possibly going with something in the relm of a 3.6L V6 twin turbo? I would think an easier and possibly cheaper fit sn would still be able to get around the same power as the LS2.

Mid to low's 10's should be realistic after cam install. Until then I am expecting 11.0's or high 10's with just the bolt ons

On the other hand, iffen' I was to add the 150 shot NOS package they have, who know's?

The fun part is it is a very comfortable daily driver!

If we can get a donation fund started, I will gladly be the guinea pig to see if that 900hp motor is streetable. I would have to get one of those high-rise import wings too, just to keep the rearend down at highway speeds.
