The sub works awesome in the trunk. Its a lot louder than the factory sub.

I was just going to just replace my stock sub with a MTX sub and run an aftermarket amp..

Dose the trunk vibrant? I just wouldnt think you could hear it in the car very well.

Not much. The car is built pretty well so I don't have any issues.

Bass will travel pretty easily through the stuff thats between where his sub is sitting and the pax compartment.

For subs it's important to have the right backspacing for the best thump. He added a bigger more powerfull sub with much better back spacing that's also centered so both seats can enjoy it equally (thats a win/win/win/win situation).

This is correct. I couldn't have said it any better myself. The worst part is building a box that has the correct volume to work with the subwoofer but is able to fit in the trunk. If I go with a more powerful sub I will need to change my design to add small boxes to the sides of my bigger box to get more volume if that makes any sense.
