hoodliner

will putting a hoodliner in make the engine bay too hot and not let it cool properly? id like to put one in to keep the engine noise down cause i cant stand the injectors but i dont wanna fry my engine. im also gonna put some dynapad on the floorboard and in the trunk and some dynapad in the panels and behind the seat. i eventually want to get 2 10s put behind the seats so this is a preinstall thatll get me nice and quiet .

actually the liner on the underside of your hood now, is a sound barrier. So i don't think you will gain much there, but look at the firewall for possible sound barrier adding.

I've found the best way to handle the injector noise is to put a CD in the player, adjust the equalizer, and crank it up.

If you need a suggestion, you can try THIS on the ^__^ setting. The drum bass at 0:09 is a nice start, but the bass guitar at 0:17 is the clincher on the Monsoon subwoofer. Guaranteed to drown out any engine noise, and has been known to vibrate both side view mirrors and rear view mirror, and provide a nice back massage to the right seat passenger. A bargain if you ask me. Takes care of the noise and you get a virtual masseuse as an extra. And if that isn't enough, Laurent's use of the tambourine (which is a phonetic cousin to our injectors) will make our Ecotec sound like an accompanying instrument. The James Bond motif is the icing on the cake.

IMHO I'd hit the firewall (from inside the vehicle), doors panels, and rear wheel wells. Most other places the effect is going to be negligible.

Worst case take down the top and listen to your music loud.

You already have a hood liner.
If you don't like the noise - try doing the firewall from the cabin side, as has been suggested.

If you're dead set on doing it, despite it's overall lack of effectiveness, no it shouldn't cause a problem.

i though the stock headliner was a fire suppression liner more than anything else... if you guys dont know what i'm talking about, get a scrap one and throw it in a fire, it breaks down and chokes out the flames. thus has been its purpose for the last decade or so. and YES, alizee is the shiznit, got all her albums, you should check out andree watters and jenifer bartoli too though

I have an Alizee question for the fans out there. There is a song that she did called "Moi Lolita" that uses sampled music from a song that was released here in the states several years ago, or maybe I'm wrong and the song was sampled from her. Does anyone know what the name song that was released here was? I'm asking because I don't know and it's been bothering me for a few months now.

They do have similar (same?) chord progressions.

By the way, in 2000, the song Moi Lolita made the Pop charts in 17 countries, and hit number 1 in five of those countries. Between 2000 and 2003, her songs would hit the Pop charts in 23 countries, and made it to number 1 in nine them. A global phenomenon sans the U.S.

The programmers at Blizzard Entertainment mapped her JEAM dance choreography as the Night Elf dance in World of Warcraft. The song Moi Lolita was used as part of the sound track in "A Good Year" (starring Russel Crow).

With the exception of a niche group of fans, she is virtually unknown in the U.S. But I do hear she is becoming somewhat known in some car specialty forums

For those who missed it:
