HPTuner Software

Just emailed HPTuners and asked them when they would be releasing a tuning suite package for the RL. I haven't heard too much talk on here from anyone that may have it. As far as I know it is not available yet for our cars. With this you could copy a BSR reflash and use that to build your own tune or just upload it into the ECU as is. If I am wrong about that, someone please correct me.

Hptuners has a beta version that allows you to change some parameters, but you still cant control boost. Wheather it'll allow you to read bsr's tune is up in the air, it could be locked.
The shop that makes the gxp/redline tunes for saturn motorsports will make you a custom tune for $99.... if you buy the hptuner software from them.

Thanks man! I know that on the ION RL's, those guys would use the stage 2 tune as a base and datalog the ECM readings. Then they would flash the tune into the ECM based off of those readings. I am sure the same principle would apply in this case for the SKY RL. I believe that RPI is currently working with some of their connects to map the ECM so that they can accomplish the same thing. Once the computer is cracked we are going to see a lot meaner RL's out there and some 2.4's. With some custom tuning and bolt on's we will be well over the 300whp range. We are already getting there with what is available. I can't wait to see waht happens in the next few months.

The 2.4's should already be able to tune via HPT correct? The 2.4 Ions/Cobalts can, so I figured the Sky's/Sol's would be able to as well.

Well, there are at least 6 Ion RL's that used to meet up, and 2 of them kinda flake on meets now, 1 legitimately do to work though. I brought up the CFLRA before here i think and nobody seemed interested in hanging out with the Ion guys. A group of us, all different type of saturns, meet up every monday night at Friendly Confines on Semoran/436 and Aloma. There's generally 3-4 Ion RL's, 1-2 SC2's, and a 2.2 Ion on nitrous on a regular night. You're more than welcome to come out if you'd like. There's a local guy with HPT too, and one in tampa when you get the sky.

Correct. The 2.4 is well supported. The 2.0 is a different beast and still in beta, least last time I checked.

u better watch out with that setup u got. the 42lbers lean out in the 6500+k range on just a 2.8" pulley. Id get it tuned to run a 2.7" if I were u. Make sure ur IDC isnt going crazy.

I'm well aware. I don't race at all so I'm not too worried being I'm not up around 6500+rpms. I've got 60# in my closet, just not sure I want to worry about tuning with those. I might as well just order the billetflow 2.9 and be done with it.
