It's on the way.

My Chili Pepper Red Sky was picked up today at 4:30 PM and is on its way to Mallett Cars for an LS2 conversion. I wasn't able take any pics because it was raining and foggy. Now the wait begins.

Do you have to pay extra for them to pick up and deliver back your car?

Awesome. Congrats! Its one heckuva motor. Not only will you have tons or torque now...you'll get better gas mileage than the LE5!

RedSkyMan -

AWESOME! While mine has only been in the garage for the last week since delivery, I am so glad I did it! I gladly start it up for each of my friends that stops by and sees it is back. What a treat to hear that power under the hood of a SKY! Did they tell you what build # you are? Should still be pretty low - I am #004.

It was 45 degrees here today, and I was really tempted to take it out, but the roads are still wet and too salty.

Here is my thread with pics:
Mallett Sky #004 is Home!

You will not be disappointed!

You should come to the Toledo get together:

Mine is #007. Looks like we are a small number of Sky owners getting the conversion. According to what I've heard, they have done over 50 conversions so far and they are only doing a total of 100 with most of those first conversions being Solstices. I would like to come to the get together but it is hard to go very far with my wife in a nursing home. Maybe some day there will be a get together closer to me. So far I haven't even seen another Sky around here. I still have the only one in Columbus, Indiana. I have seen only about 4 Solstices though. Can't wait for them to see mine.

Yep, you guys are among the few. Congrats again by the way. Thats one of the best engines in the world. From what I have heard Mallet is booked on these conversions for the next 2 years.

Have you heard any numbers on gas mileage with the LS2?

Once I decided to do the conversion, gas mileage concerns went out the window! It's a V8, it will eat gas, and that is that.

That said, I am curious about what the mileage will be. I was getting around 24-26 with my base 2.4 and my driving habits. I suppose I will get considerably less now, but will be much less worried about it.

Yee-Haa!

I'm not really concerned about mileage either. I haven't put much mileage on my Sky since I got her last June and most of those mile are from city driving here in Columbus, but the mileage really sucks, 19-20. When I get her back I'm going to spend more time on the open road.

Yes, its a V8. No, its not going to eat up a lot of gas. Vette owners are getting 28mpg on a heavier car. The sky/solstice is a couple of hundred pounds lighter so you should expect similar or better numbers. Thats one of the greatest things about your conversion. More power, more torque and even better gas mileage.
