Loss of power while going through a sharp turn

So I believe this is due to the Stability Control kicking in, but its damn annoying. Whenever i hit it going around a hard turn the power just disapears. Normally i would expect the rear to possibly squeel or slide around a little, but having the power just die is rather annoying. Does anyone else have this problem?

It doesnt happen when I turn off all the Stability Control stuff, but is there a way to just disable it perminatly, or at least for it to default as disabled, or maybe just have a switch?

did you disable it all the way? i.e. Hold the button down for 7 seconds? There are 3 settings. Normal, Competetive Mode, and Completely Off.

Yea, when I turn it completely off, i dont have the problem. The other modes i view as worthless.

There are actually 4 modes, Normal, Competitive Mode, Traction off, and ESC off. ESC off is the true completly off, with Traction off, I can still feel it kick in to help out.

then i'm pretty sure thats just how the stability system is designed. We'll need to ask our resident engineer BOGIE....

If Traction Control detects rear wheel slip, part of the fix is to manage the spark to stop the slip and bring the wheels back into traction. Tires can give a certain amount of grip. Go grip and turn grip are driver-managed resources. If you are using a lot of turn grip, you got less go grip. If you are at the limit or past turn grip (your rear is sliding), then you got no go grip and any application of throttle will likely cause the Traction system to retard the spark as you have no traction. If ESC is active, the system may also selectively apply brakes as well.

That said, I swear I've been able to induce a very small bit of lateral rear movement without TCS kicking in...but it could be my imagination.

Of course, on competition courses, blipping the throttle to induce oversteer is helpful in some instances. Competition mode allows you to "steer with the throttle" without TSC messing you up, but retains some ESC selective braking if it thinks you're losing it.

If you turn it all off, even the ESC won't save you. This may be necessary for drift racing or on tracks that require a lot of turn drifting. In this case, once you pass the spin threshold...the car will pretty much let you spin out.
