Suggestion: don't lug it in 4th or 5th gear by trying to accelerate from 2K RPM. Drop it down a gear... or two if you need to accelerate hard.

Put a more restrictive muffler on and you'll get a quiter ride, but lose the performance benefits. If you only got the quad tip system for looks, you could have saved a bunch of money by just welding a fake exhaust pipe and a tip on the driver side.

16664 noise

I also thought that the 16664 quad was a little loud, so does my wife but she has not complained. I like the sound.....my suggestion is go on magnaflows web site and give a call to tech-support. It seems to be a little faster with this system but I have noticed a slight drop in mileage.....BTW any of you out there with this same system noticed a slight drop in mileage?

Lfs

Let's see...

Less restrictive exhaust

More vroom vroom noise

Lower MPG

Yup! Must be LFS (Lead Foot Syndrome)

Yeah it does get loud when you hang close to 3k rpm. I have also developed an obsessive buzzing noise in the passenger door. Sounds like something is loose.

Warned you guys it was LOUD. I like it though and it is still quieter than my Grand Prix (you wanna talk loud...)

For me the sound is like music so I don't mind it at all. Some people have mentioned that it is pretty loud and my son can hear it over the phone when I'm getting on the freeway talking to him. But the Monsoon sound system can still power over it no problem and it's not like you have to strain to have a conversation.

I know the Magnaflow system adds power but so does the Borla. But have any of you heard the Borla system to compare to two?

I HAVE the Borla system on BABY. It is very deep, and very loud. Much louder than the 3.0" Magnaflow on SPIRIT.

The Borla offering, when combined with the CAI, gives a very deep, throaty tone. When you press the gas down hard it drones; ease up and it is pretty quiet. What that means is if you want to get attention, you can get plenty of it. Also, with the better breathing the throttle response is incredible.

I need to hear the Borla and Magnaflow quad tip on the 2.4L side-by-side; I have only heard the dual tip Magnaflow, and I know that the Borla is definitely louder than that.

It's a nice loud, but it is definitely a loud.
