MagnaFlow 3" dragging the ground?

There had been mention of the down pipe from the cat actually contacting the ground over bumps, and that MagnaFlow was going to address this before production. Anybody know what happened. Are you listening jdigiant?

On a super-massive speed bump in a park, I scraped the exhaust. That is the only time that it has happened in a couple months of driving. If you don't lower the car, you should be okay in all normal circumstances.

As for a modification before production, I have heard nothing about that at all. I know RPI did a twin-tube exhaust with two smaller pipes side-by-side that is probably better for lowered cars, but I know nothing of changes to the Magnaflow offering.

The car is LOW from the factory. With the Eibach springs, my stock exhaust scrapes everything. There really isnt much room to play with under the car so there isn't much Magnaflow or anyone can do. The only thing we tried was to go with a 3" oval pipe which brings the center piping up higher.

I would think that without lowering the car, incidents of scrapping should be very minimal with the 3".....
Afterall, how many times are we driving over speed bumps??

I would think that the incidents would be very infrequent if any.... no biggie.....

John mentioned he had problems even without a lowered car.

Only once. I was in a park, and they had these huge speed bumps with big ramps up one side and down the other. They were really big, and the tops of them were all chewed up from all the other cars that had scraped on them. That was the only time.

The 3.0 inch Magnaflow hangs about half an inch lower than the stock exhaust.

A small adustment of driving style can solve the problem. If your car is not lowered and you have 3" piping, just drive it like it was lowered. If its lowered and you have 3" then thats another story.
