Hey guys. So i just got my 07 2.4 sky. I just wanted to get peoples opinions on what i should get done to it first. I am a college student to give everyone a heads up, so i don't have tons of money to spend. I probably make around 1000 a month. I was thinking CAI, SOLO exhaust. Just leave a reply.

Is the $1000 disposable income? What's left after car payment, insurance, rent, utilities, food, other entertainment, etc.?

Rule of thumb for a five year old car: Budget at least $200 a month just to maintain it.

A backbone brace and aftermarket exhaust OK.

Fuggetabout the air intake mod unless you just want more noise/sound.

Does the ECU in the 2.4s negate performance mods like the Redline does?

Probably around 500-700 is disposable after everything. The car is already paid for so i don't have to worry about that.

I would start with a cold air intake and a cat back exhaust.

FWIW, start with a SOLO exhaust (call them - very good support).

Skip the CAI, at least for now. The money will be better spent on a Backbone and Pro-Beam.

Put a few bucks aside for a good clay bar and wax.

That is a good rule of thumb for cars that get driven. Many Kappa's are still under 10k miles and parts aging vrs wear is the issue.
