RedLine "CAI" CARB certified

Sounds like the RL CAI is well on it's way. CARB EO D-126-19 makes the RL CAI street legal in CA as of 8/14/07. "The Air Induction Kit includes an air filter, outer pre-filter, air filter housing or shield, aluminum inlet tube, and assorted mounting hardware." While the search page itself describes the EO as for 2008 GXP and RL, the text of the executive order itself applies to the GM kit itself.

Sorry. No pics or drawings from CARB. Just the usual exciting state language indicating that GMs CAI for the RL is street legal in CA.

"...Pursuant to the authority vested in the undersigned by Sections 39515 and 39516 of the health and Safety Code and Executive Order G-02-003;
IS IS ORDERD AND RESOLVED: That the installation of the Air Induction Kit,..." blah, blah, blah.

The CARB executive order is significant though as one would generally expect a CARB exception as a criteria for general availability.

Oh well, I least I can take it as sign they are progressing towards the release date........

It sorta reminds of having to wait for my Sky last year.......

Exactly. With the EO, there can be no further changes without recertifying, so the kit should be out of engineering and moving along toward a release someday. At least this tells you that it is a reality and a serious offering. Not every aftermarket offering which requires certification from the Air Resources Board gets this exemption making it street legal. It can be very time consuming an expensive, and in some cases impossible. An expense which explains at least part of the extra price one typically expects from GMPP.

that is great news. A CARB certification actually makes it worth the $$$.

Cost?

What is the cost for the CAI for the redline?

Is it available in every state?

Don't know the price, but don't know that it's been announced. One G/M parts place doesn't show a price yet, but the part# is 19157849. I can't imagine that it wouldn't be available in all states. That's part of why the CARB cert is significant. If it's street legal in CA, it's more than likely street legal and available in all.

Thanks!

Looks like something I'd want if the cost is acceptable!

Will ask my dealer about it!

Not Bad!

Not a bad price, I'm going in this week to have the truck release button replaced and the fuel lid cover fixed so I'll ask the dealer if this can be ordered!
