Stage III turbo

Well folks, everythings in, just doing the final steps now (power steering fluid, oil and filter, plugs). We took our time, made a few calls, made a few mistakes, but all-in-all a pretty straight forward install. You will use all of the kit parts in the installation. I am waiting on the pcm to return (expected early next week) then we will do several trial warm-up, cool down, tighten ups, runs and checks for leaks! Will keep you posted

Who did you go through for this? What kind of turbo did you throw in there?

Well my name is Edward Caswell, I installed the turbo kit in the car for Dave, which he was a great help himself. The install was very straight forward if you have done a few cars in the past. The directions are somewhat confusing and misleading at times but still better than most I have used before. I will take a few pics of the install that I did and get some numbers up when he wants to take it to the dyno. If anyone needs any performance parts installed or one of these kits feel free to contact me via PM. I'm located in Evansville, IN. I have done alot of car and turbo kits so i'm very knowledgable about forced induction. I have dont multiple SRT4 with 400+ hp, 1 600hp srt4, SC C5 vette, turbo chrysler, daytona charger that put down 456hp at the wheels, SC ford lighting 500+ hp, NA vipers, and now in process of SC a new 2008 Challenger(excited). YOur cars have a ton of potential to be a fast car. I have some great ideas for these car as far as forced induction. Thanks for your time and if you need anything feel free to contact me. Thanks Edward

The kit is a Hahn Stage III kit for Solstice or Sky. (Mitshubishi 16G), Contact Bill @ Hahn Racecraft. Big Ed (above) helped me with the install, or maby it was I who helped him! I called Vector today, since it has been a week since I sent out the pcm. They said it would be finished and shipped today. I guess I will go shopping for a new clutch since Ed and Bill tell me I'll need it! Puggs

Definitely looking forward to your #'s and review - as I'm preparing to drop for either the Hahn Stage II or III myself.

Is the kit a BIG 16g? I know that is what I add to my Mitsubishi motors instead of the 16G the Big 16 flows a lot better with the same spooling time. I think the DSM 2.0 has about the same rev range as the Ecotec motor.

Not sure? Ask Mr. Hahn. It fits well, not much wiggle room.

Well I know the 16G flows 505 CFM and the Big 16G flows 550 CFM. So I am curious which unit was used. I think the 16G can only support about 350 HP max where the Big 16 can make 400 HP.

This will give me an idea as to where the power is going to be.

Hahn offers an upgrade from the 16G to a 20 for a few smackers more. I would guess its the smaller of the two. The Hahn website info. talks about the Stage IV having the 20 and the potential for this setup is nearly 400 HP!!

2.4l

You can turbo swap a 2.0l but can't really tune to take advantage of it yet.

Good Lord!! Right now I would just be happy to get my reflash back from Hahn reflash, (Vector Motorsports) My Sky has been ready to roll for a week now. My buddy wants his bay back, and I'm confused on return shipping problems??? I want to yell at something, It'll be two weeks this coming Tuesday since I had the ECM shipped out. I figured 2 days getting there, ( UPS, ) 2 days getting the updates needed, 2 days getting back, ......not gonna happen!! I want it done right, that takes time, and I know they had a delay last week due to a funeral. So I wait! Next step?... tracking. I could just go ahead and install the GMPP coil overs while waiting!!

Got the update, it will be here Monday!! I went to Eds and installed the GMPP (Billstein) coil over shocks this afternoon. That took about 3 hours. Not really a difficult job. Well until Monday!

Oh Baby, Oh Baby Oh! Does my 2.4 just fly! Will put on a dyno next week (hopefully Tuesday) and work some numbers there. Way big difference, kind of scary I can also feel a big difference in the handling characteristics with the GMPP suspension. Puggs, out

No problems with ecu install. Did have to reverse hoses on the pump, (had them right to start with!) then I read the instructions again and reversed them. You will have to weave your way around several areas of this technical piece of literature called the instruction manual! It's an experience, and I'd like to do it again! I took my time, my helper and performance induction "Guru" Edward Caswell took his time but was quick with a wrench!!! Ed was an absolute relief to me. He dispelled my fears about everything dealing with the install and it's outcome, even to the reassurrance that there would be no fire when I brought out the fire extinguisher at first start. Ed checked for leaks everywhere and we had one at the brass fitting on top of the turbo, alls well now. Still some fine tuning to do, and we're planning to take care of that next week at the dyno shop! all for now, Puggs
