Getting Your Saturn Sky Forum for discussing the process of ordering/tracking/buying your Saturn Sky. Ever wonder what a VOMS is? How about an "image", or how cars are allocated? The answer probably lies within.

Big props to my dealership: Saturn of Mesquite (texas)

I just wanted to say I had a great experience with Saturn of Mesquite (so far). Despite not knowing when my car may arrive (wanted black with black/red interior) because it was being shipped to Houston and then driven to Dallas I went ahead and traded in my car to get in on the 72month 0% financing. It's been only 3 days since I signed the papers but I have been having a hard time getting anything done with no car. The dealership was kind enough to let me go out on the lot and pick any vehicle I wanted as a loaner until mine arrives.

So far their customer service has been excellent; my salesman Ben and his partner Tony have both treated me very well and responded quickly to any questions I may have.

Just wanted to share since you always only seem to hear bad dealership stories.

That is great news. I purchased my Sky from them in February. I had a very good experience but have had no reason to go back to see them yet. I hope the service department experience is as good as the purchase. You read so many horror stories on the forum.

I actually tried hard to buy from them, but the sales manager would not back off from his requirement of adding $3000 of useless "dealer add ons" to the car.

This was on a car I was trying to order. So instead, I went to Saturn of Hurst, which was more than happy to order me a car without any "extras".

I guess maybe the situation at Mesquite has changed in the last year, or maybe they got tired of their customers going elsewhere.

I was going to grab a Sky but they had a customer looking to buy one at the time so I didn't want to take away one of his options. I got a loaded Vue because my cousin wants to buy one so I figured I could tell her how it is.

It was an XR, I just couldn't remember the letters so "loaded" took their place :P

It's nice. Torque steer is ridiculous though.

The dealer I bought my Sky from wanted to add $3900 in dealer options. Almost $60 a month increase in payments for 72 months. I drove an hour to get the car, and I wasn't about to leave it there a extra day for dealer add-ons. At the end of the paper work the sales girl handed me the keys, and said" you probably know more about this car than I do, thanks". She didn't go over anything with me or my wife about the car. It was really bizzare. I have no intentions of ever going back there!

My dealings with Saturn of Mesquite were most positive ... and I am from New York! They replaced my fuel pump and 1st rear seal. Since I had to leave my car, and was traveling through Texas, they provided me with a loaner. The service department was very professional and well trained in their craft.

Well, I got my car yesterday. Got it home, my dad wanted to take it around the block. Half way around the corner the car flashed service traction and service stability control. Soooo it's back at the dealer after waiting over a week.

I'm pissed.

Congrats on your purchase Nicholas! Glad a few other people made it on the forums too.

Everyone keep an eye out in the Southwest forum for trips to Ennis, TMS and other Sky events around the metroplex.

Mbeardsley – I don’t ever remember us charging $3k for adds, especially in 07. Sure it wasn’t Plano??? Either way, I’m sorry we missed your business!

Thanks for the good words everyone! It makes our jobs even more enjoyable.

Yeah, it was you guys...I was trying to order an early '08, so it would have been late-May of '07.

I had several emails with your internet sales lady (don't remember her name). And after assuring me that there wouldn't be any add-ons, I went down to order the car.

At that point the sales manager got involved, and insisted that I had to buy about $3200 worth of extras (stuff like paint protection, road hazard insurance, and 24-hour towing service). He kept saying that all the dealers had to do this "just to stay in business".

At one point I even said, "How about instead of me buying all this stuff, you just tell me how much profit you expect to gain from that stuff and we add that to the price of the car?"

He then claimed that it would be about $3000 in profit. At that point I just bailed.

In general, my Sky shopping experience was quite frustrating. Previously, I had tried to get a test drive at the Plano dealership, and was told "Well...we don't let just anyone test drive a Sky."

It really seemed that the Saturn dealerships were going out of their way to avoid selling me a car (I guess you can get away with that when you've got a high-demand vehicle).

Eventually, I was able to order a car from Hurst without any hassles. I just wish that the Hurst dealership wasn't so far away from me.

As a follow up to my issue, it was pretty simple. My dad got his feet up under the dash when he took it for a drive, causing a wire that connects to the brake pedal to get jammed up. The EBCM had no communication with the brake pedal. They fixed it and tinted my windows for free for all the hassle.

I didn't have any extras pushed on me. Jeff (boostedinlinefor) was my finance guy and was understanding about me not being interested in the warranty at the time of purchase.

Everything said and done I am very pleased with my experience and will return for anything else I have to do.
