Buying mine tomorrow with the new 0% financing

I've been looking at used cars and was talking with a lady who wants to sell her 2008 Sky Redline for $26k. I filled out financing applications with my bank and was really considering making her a counter offer when I received a call from the local dealership. I had asked them to give me a heads up if they got any used manual redlines in or started a new sky promotion. He informed me that they just stared offering 0% for 72 months. I crunched the numbers and I just couldn't see passing up that kind of financing to save a few bucks on a used car.

I'm torn between silver and black, but he just told me that they're getting in a silver one with black leather, spoiler and chrome wheels tomorrow afternoon. I'm 98% sure I'm going to buy it.

I'm also pretty sure I can use $1,000 of my GM Mastercard rewards to sweeten the deal a bit more.

I have black. Love it. But geez, is it hard to keep it looking good.

That's the reason I decided on Silver over Black too. At least the silver doesn't look dusty and dirty 30-seconds down the road after you just washed her.

In the end; it's 100% personal preference though.

Good luck & enjoy!

It's a great time to buy with the 0% financing. I would definetly take advantage of that regardless of the color you pick.

Yes the only bad thing is that you will loose 7-8K as soon as you drive it off the lot.

Not zero percent you may save 10K on financing cost over those 72 months.

Depends on the finance rate you get for the used car.

26K is not bad for a used one. I paid 27 D/O for mine in Feb and not six months earlier some poor sod paid 34K D/O.

I pulled the trigger and drove it home this evening. The only bummer was it had that "getaway" package with the windscreen, but it wasn't installed. I have to go back tomorrow or Friday for them to install the windscreen and flaps.

I hadn't given any thought to the mud flaps and I'm not sure I want them installed because of looks. As for the windscreen, I was planning on purchasing one of those lighted engraved numbers. Any thoughts? I'm wondering if I shouldn't just take the package uninstalled and eBay it.

Congrats on the new wheels. Get the splash guards installed right away, they do help keep the rocks off the new paint plus they really dont look that bad on. I also say ditch the Sky windscreen and order a custom made one from Stephen at Windrestrictor.

Take it from me......I bought the factory windscreen...wish I hadn't.

I had to have the rear gate silver bracket replaced because the dealership chipped one of the gates as they repleced it so they did not re-install the factory windscreen. I asked the dealship if they would refund me the 120.00 if I said leave it the way it is, they have not replied as of this writing. Because of the new design of the silver headrest bracket they have to send it to a body shop and get me a rental.......I said save your money and not put it on.

I really want the aftermarket windsindrestrictor. But is it hard to install and how do you do it? I really want one.

Please advise.

Thank you,

I just spoke with Stephen (director of sales) and am completely sold on the Wind Restrictor. I now have three issues:
1) Do I get version 1 or 2? I read a review of v2 and it seems the thicker acrylic reduces vibration, although v1 seems to look more "stock" and less like it was added on.
2) I'm planning on having the TN Sky & Solstice club logo and website URL etched, but I need to finalize the graphic.
3) Guess I'll eBay the factory wind stop and hope to recoup some of the cost.

First afternoon of the SKY sitting in the work parking lot and already a couple driving by (in a BMW convertible) stopped to ask what type of car it is and comment on how "beautiful" it looks. *big grin*

I've had Version 2 for several months now with the top down a majority of the time and have no complaints. Get the etched and illuminated and ask Steve if they can do a Tenessee orange LCD versus that Burnt Orange of Texas.
