Getting Your Saturn Sky Forum for discussing the process of ordering/tracking/buying your Saturn Sky. Ever wonder what a VOMS is? How about an "image", or how cars are allocated? The answer probably lies within.

I had him run down the invoice info and discovered that the car has chrome wheels, which I didn't order. He reluctantly agreed to remove the wheels and replace them with the base painted wheels if he has a set in stock. Either way, I told him I would not pay for an option that I hadn't ordered. I should be able to inspect the car and possibly pick it up tomorrow. I sure wish my first Saturn experience had been as rosy as they have made it sound over the years. Like someone else posted, hopefully this will all be a distant memory very soon
We must be using the same dealer!

I agree I like the chrome over the painted. I think they look much better in person. Either way, hopefully you are able to get whichever you want.

I'm in southern California and my dealership sucked. (They didn't notify me when my salesman quit, never updated me on my Red Line's production progress even though I asked them to keep me in the loop, and total lack of enthusiasm when I picked it up.) After I called and complained to Saturn corporate, my dealer was calling and bending over backward to do anything possible to get back in my good graces. Question #14 on the GM satisfaction survey is their Holy Grail. Still haven't decided how I'm going to rate them.

I don't mind the chrome wheels but at $800 they are a little pricey. I much prefer the polished wheels (not so reflective so you can see more of the wheel design, yet they're still shiny). Unfortunately, they are not available from the factory on base SKYs anymore (only Red Lines). The salesman put me in touch with someone in GM who handles wheels for the company and he is getting a set of polished wheels for me. I don't know what the final cost of that will be but he assured me he would give me a "deal".

Until I can get those though, I'm not sure what the dealer will do if they can't locate a set of painted wheels before I pick the car up.

There are usually several sets of polished wheels available on ebay.
I suspect a lot of people get custom wheels for their redlines and then put the original polished ones up for sale.
You might try that route.

Well, the good news is that the car looks fantastic and only had 3 miles on the odo. The bad news is that I was unable to get any of the payment/pricing information done before going to look at the car because no one would call me back. So none of that was figured out before I went to look at it. What's worse is that the salesman never apologized and had me work with his wife who "helps out" at the dealership. Um, what? He basically disappeared after showing me the car. Needless to say she knew almost nothing about the process and I spent nearly two hours there before everything was figured out. I had the manager paged but he never came out of his office. What a circus. I have never had a car buying experience be so difficult. I will be getting an AURA in the fall but will never return to that retailer. I can't wait until my survey comes in the mail. It ain't gonna be pretty.

They did mysteriously "find" a set of polished wheels in stock and are putting them on the car today. I'm picking it up tonight and will post pics when I have them

Congrats on the success of getting the car...and the polished wheels. Definitely better than painted.

Congratulations! I am glad everything worked out for you. I'm sorry your experience was so bad. I wish you could deal with my dealership. They are great! Just remember that not all dealerships are created equal and find one that treats you right.

Did anybody else NOT get a survey in the mail? The dealership was all concerned making sure the right question was answered the right way, but I never even received one.
