Getting Your Saturn Sky Forum for discussing the process of ordering/tracking/buying your Saturn Sky. Ever wonder what a VOMS is? How about an "image", or how cars are allocated? The answer probably lies within.

At The Dealer!!

THANKS YET AGAIN TO our resident Sky Order Info Angel for getting me another update!!!!!

So now I am up to 5000 but yet for the same date it shows 4200 01/15/07. I did have a Deputy friend of mine assigned to the area last night where the oh so lovely dealership is to do a "courtesy business check" last night.... so he got out and looked in windows etc. but now sign of Sinister yet!

Hummmm I am wondering when I am going to get THE call!!!!

The way this is supposed to go down is... when Sinister is ready or there someone from the dealership I think the jerk-o GM is going to call the State Investigator then she is going to call me then we are going to set up a time to go down there to do everything. *BUT* this is where it gets tricky, because I only know the price is NOT going to change from the one I was told, but yet I do want to get the ext. warranty I do not know the final price with tag/tax. This matters because my parents are going to actually pay cash for the car for me. SO therefore, I have to coordinate with them to meet us down there or just give me the cash. UGGG!!!

THEN I also worry that they may not call the lady from the State till after hours tonight, so the car will end up sitting all weekend and I won't know till Monday, since I am pretty sure that the State lady is not going to just drop everything on a weekend for this.

Oh hummmm what's a girl to do!!! GRRRRR!!!!

YAY!!!! Congrats!!

So happy that things seem to be finally working out for you on this!!

Oh, why are you thinking about the extended warranty? The powertrain (basically engine and tranny) are under warranty for 5 yrs or 100k miles. The extended warranty will only change your bumper to bumper warranty from 3/36 to 5/60 (or I think there might be a 5/70 or 7/100 option, but for a lot more $$). IMO, anything that's going to break that wouldn't be covered under powertrain, is likely to break inside that first 36k miles anyways. If you just like having the peace of mind though, go for it! Just wanted to point out that getting the extended warranty doesn't get you as much as it used to (powertrain warranty used to only be 3/36 as well).

Either way.....HAVE FUN!!!

Congrats! Hopefully, they'll just want to get the whole thing over with & give it to you ASAP.

I think someone posted a few weeks ago & said their car showed up online - but it wasn't at dealer yet - dealer just wanted to show it in his sales figures for December.

Yikes! $1500! That's almost what the Ext Warranty used to cost, and that was when you were getting an extension of the powertrain warranty along with that.

Go for it if that's what you want to do, but my experience with Saturns is that you probably won't need it. Plus, make sure you check the fine print on it, because I ran into a couple of problems with the extended warranty on my Ion Redline (for instance, checking Check Engine Light codes isn't covered under the warranty, unless the problem itself is covered by the warranty, and there's a few other things like deductibles and such). They call it an extended bumper-to-bumper warranty, but they're sometimes a little fishy.

Honestly, with a VW, I would always get the extended warranty, because I hear of folks all the time who have trouble with their VWs. The Saturns I've owned, have been great all along (5 different ones now, no warranty work problems between 36k and 60k on 3 of those, and no problems period up to 100k on one of them).

Not trying to persuade you one way or the other, just sharing my experiences.

Either way, YOU'RE GOING TO LOVE THIS CAR!!!

(hope the whole paper signing and picking up the car process goes smoothly!)

Grrrr!!!

GRRRR!!!! BOO HOOO NO SKY for me this weekend to cruise in!!!!

I just called the State Lady and she is too busy to meet till NEXT WEEK! UGGG! OH well atleast I know it's mine and she is here!!!!!! The State Lady said that they left a message for her last night saying the car was there.

In the meantime she said I needed my proof of insurance and pre approval letter for funding.... SO I called my Insurance Girl and she just faxed me over ID cards showing the "2007 Saturn Sky Roadster" and I am typing out the letter now about my funding since my Mom is paying cash for the car.

I want to be excited but with everything that has happened I am a little gun shy right now!

Search for previous threads by KimberlySKY, that would be the easiest way to explain it. Short story is the GM at her dealer is an idiot and a jerk. Shame too 'cause it used to be a great dealership.

Every time I have been to a dealership for a car puchase they have offered an extended warranty. I have refused the warranty each time and complain about the high price. Each time their finance guy has somehow produced a better price for the exact same warranty. I dunno...just saying.

CONGRATULATIONS!!!
