Early 07 Automatic Sky for Sale

Help!!! I am looking at a used 2007 red Sky with an automatic trans and about 7400 miles. It is the base model--not a Redline (unfortunately). The Carfax indicates the car went into service in the Oct/Nov 2006 timeframe so it's an early 07 model. I have read a lot of threads, both on the Sky and Solstice forums, and there seemed to be issues early on. The 06 Solstice had a lot of problems but I was wondering how the early 07 Skys have fared. Anything I should be on the lookout for?

Also, they are asking $19,988 for it. It has pretty much everything but leather (Monsoon, limited slip diff, chrome wheels). It seems like a good price, especially from a dealer, which has me wondering as well.

Any suggestions/comments/recommendations are appreciated. I really like the Sky and would love to get one but if the early ones were problems, I'll keep looking.

Thanks

Mines been on the road since June 15 2006 -- no problems -- the early R/Ls had some minor problems but in general the early 2.4 were pretty good.

No leather means no premium trim package. That's a bummer. I didn't think anyone would get a Sky without the premium trim package.....

It should still have another 16 months of factory warranty, yes? If not, move along.

Hi,

I have an early Sky (Feb 06). The only major problem I've had was a pinion seal leak, this was a common problem which was later addressed by Saturn with a recall. Other than that, the car has been pretty much trouble-free.

Thank you all for your inputs!!! You've reaffirmed my decision to go with a Kappa over a Miata. Hwever, there has been a new twist. While researching the 07, a dealer has offered to sell me a new 08 base Sky--red, auto, and leather package for $24500 plus the $1000 rebate--$23,500. TT&L is not included in that price. I'm new to this forum and have a little time logged on the Solstice forum as well but in my limited experience that sounds like a pretty good price. What do you think?

As for the great offer on the R/L, I'd love to get one (yes, I drove one a few weeks ago--it was great) but unless it has a CA emissions sticker on it, you can't register it in California.
