| Getting Your Saturn Sky Forum for discussing the process of ordering/tracking/buying your Saturn Sky. Ever wonder what a VOMS is? How about an "image", or how cars are allocated? The answer probably lies within. |

Greetings
Hello everyone!
Let me first congratulate the moderators and members of this site. Ever sice I came across it, it has provided me with plenty of information on a car I did not know existed until I came across it by chance after I turned in my Z3 early Janurary!! I ordered my SKY in Janurary of this year and I am supposedly #19 on my dealer list. I was told the waiting time is estimated to be 3-6 months. For the sake of tradition the combination of colors for my car is Chili Pepper Red with Black interior with red stitching. Thanks again, and I look forward to learning more about the car I am so anxious with anticipation to have from all here. |

Welcome to the best formum on the web! #19 doesn't sound too bad! I have a friend in Utah who is now #47...down from 60 something. He put his name in the same time I did, 7/22/06 and I'm driving mine now!
If you have to wait, this is the place. You will glean more information about the care and feeding of your new addition than any place I can think...besides, these guys are a blast. Not only knowledgeable, but fun, too. Enjoy your wait! And never give up!!!! I think Churchill said that! ![]()

Thank you all for your welcome!
The salesman informed me that since SKY's (skies?) have been increased in production, is not a RedLine and since my car does not feature many options that I should not have long (3-5 mos) to wait. Is the salesman's assesment of my prospects correct according to your experiences and knowledge? |

At #19, you might want to consider making some phone calls. You could probably get one a lot sooner in a cold weather state (but not this one.) |

Welcome. Other dealers may be able to get one for you sooner, you just have to spend the time to do the research (on this forum) and be willing to travel further to pick it up. I ordered an RL in Dec. and expect to pick it up by March, and there is probably a dealer in your region that could be as quick. It just depends on how patient you are willing to be and how far you are willing to travel. At first, waiting isn't so bad...but after awhile, it's starts driving you crazy!! The forum is a great place to commiserate and fantasize while you wait, though.

I figured the 3-5 month wait was convenient as I have a lease on my current car ending in June. Impatience is not an issue, the accuracy of the dealer's estimate is. |

Oh Yea Another Floridian
Hello and Welcome to our Forum. GREAT another Floridian Sky buyer is ahappening--CONGRATS. Be adivsed that ah, I am just couple miles north of your location. As for dealers accuracy on deliveries is a crap shoot to be honest, they don't really know. You being 19 on list don't mean shXt. Your order will not be placed until the dealer receives an allocation & you get an order number from the dealer. However, being 19 can move quickly if those in front of decide not to buy you can move up quickly, on the other hand it can go slow also. Timing as you ask is really impossible to predict--Good luck however, any questions you might let me know I'll try to answer-- |

Thanks for your intro and your generous offer of assistance Midnite. So the question then is the dealer being granted allocations rather than the dealer requesting allocations? How long was your time frame from request to delivery of your car? How long was your dealer's list? |

19th on a dealer's list sounds like a very long wait. I would check it out closer. I know people who have waited nearly a year because a dealer was taking orders far in advance of actually getting allocations.

Update
My dealer appraised me today on the situation of my SKY.
I presented the dealer with information that I have learned here and sought a clarification of the situation. Apparently my car will be an '08 rather than an '07 by virtue of two weeks' difference of the model deadline. I am now 13th in line and am still projected to receive my car in the May-June timeframe. I would like to thank all the knowledgable individuals on this forum who provided me with the almost real-time intelligence that enabled me to force a showdown on my terms rather than relying the exclusive monopoly of information by the dealer. |

Thanks for the encouragement!! I only hope your deferred dream becomes fulfilled very soon. To wait an entire year for your car seems to me a travesty. |
