Getting Your Saturn Sky Forum for discussing the process of ordering/tracking/buying your Saturn Sky. Ever wonder what a VOMS is? How about an "image", or how cars are allocated? The answer probably lies within.

How long in the midwest?

I"m new to this site and have just ordered my Redline (Yellow with chrome rims). I didn"t recieve a order number and was told it would be 6 to 9 months. I asked how many people are ahead of me, and the salesman said he didn't know. I am in Minnesota so would anyone know if this time frame is accurate? Thanks

Hi CBG - welcome.

You ask the universal question of which there are about 192,637,898,345,782 answers.
First GREAT COLOR!!
Second, you need more info.

Most likely the sales consultant will not know how many there are before you (of course since he does not - how can he tell you 6-9 months??).
You need to speak to the person who is coordinating the SKY sales - most likely The Sales Manager - but more likely the General Manager.
He (or she) will know how many are ahead of you. Do not accept "I don't know" as an answer since it is his business to know.
Next, you must find out how many allocations they get a month - and how many Red Line Allocations are part of that.
Again - it is his JOB to know the answer
Once you know; then it is math -- If they have 5 people ahead of you for Redlines and they allocate 2 a month then it will be 2.5 months (about) when they get to yours. I would imagine about 2 months for build and two weeks for delivery.
Try to establish a friendly relationship with the person handling the SKY sales. Ask for email addresses so you can enquire from time to time as to where you are in the system. Once you get a status number - perhaps the person would be willing to send out a once a week update (as mine did).
That's the best we can do for ya!

Your guess would be as good as the rest of ours was at the time of our order placements..... Just get as much information from your sales guy or the GM of your Dealership.... That should get you more info.... WELCOME AND GOOD LUCK WITH YOUR SKY.... i will offer a tad bit of advice.... find a TIME CONSUMING HOBBY.. you will need it , the wait will drive you nuts...SkyBaby

Still looking for another Sky,

I think Sky baby is holding out for a primer-only car so she can send it to "Earl Scheib" be the one and only "Magenta" Sky....with brake calipers to match!

Hope you get it soon so you can up up to the Wisconsin rides with us...

As for the thread at hand, the last time I was at my delaer, they were still looking at 8-10 month waits for orders.

My advice - keep stopping in and call other delaers in the area. I once was on a waiting list until I happened to call in on a day someone walked away. I know there are many others on this forum who have picked up a Sky this way. Sometimes it is better to be lucky than patient!

My car was almost 180 degrees different but I would rather have mine now than what I ordered (silver, manual, 6-disc, chrome wheels, spoiler - my order was red, auto, single disc, alloy wheels, no spoiler).

time

I ordered mine in the middle of November and just got a call today that said it has been built and will be here at the end of the month. So 3.5 months for me is all.

Welcome

Welcome CBG.

We ordered our Chili Pepper Red Red Line on July 10, 2006.

Still no word on it and the dealer just keeps saying we don't know.

Hope yours goes better than ours.

But either way, welcome.

Was at 2 dealers recently in SE Wisconsin - both had several stock Sky's on the floor / lot. One even had a silver Redline with no pre-assigned owner.

Oh well...

There are a fair number of Redlines to be found doing dealer searches and followup call to confirm. Unless one is absolutely set on a very specific options choice, I could not wait 6 months when I could buy and have shipped to my local dealer.
