I picked up my car.

Well, I picked up my car on Friday. She was sitting on the showroom floor with a red satin cover on her. She is so beautiful!! I have only noticed one problem with the car...the drivers side widow does not seal properly. It looks like the seal that is attached to the top is out of alignment. When I roll up the window it pulls on the seal. ~sigh~ I will call the dealership today and see what can be done about it. the only other problem I have is this on-stop RAIN. Dang!

Congrats!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
I hope you're enjoying your sky

Sounds like you're describing my experience. I picked up mine last week. They had the satin cover, i've been in non-stop rain, and i have the poorly positioned driver side seal. I have to open my door before i roll up the driver side window or else the seal gets stuck on the wrong side of the window. I'll take it in as soon as the parts arrive at my dealer.

Have fun, even in the rain!

Where did you buy your car? I bought mine at the Saturn on the SW Freeway. My salesman was Russell and Mike was my sales manager.

Hey again
I ordered mine from Saturn of San Antonio on 410. Yeah, it was a little bit of a drive to go pick it up since i live in houston, but the drive home was a blast in my new redline!!!!!! I ordered it in San Antonio b/c their service was so great, because i could choose the exact options i wanted, and because they had no mark up over MSRP. None of those three things were possible with the dealers i talked to in Houston. So now i have my sky and i LOVE it it. I've put about 1000 miles on it in the last week since i picked it up.

is there a houston sky owners website?

CONGRATS!!!

The top door seal is not usually really a problem. If the window is comming up on the inside of the seal I am willing to bet that your B Pillars are not lining up into the holes at the back of the door.

See Pics!!

This solves the problem 9 out of 10 times!! The second picture is OUT OF alignment!!

Congratulations!!! You will love your car.

Your dealership was nice to "gift wrap" your car. At the dealership in Jacksonville, they did nothing except take my check two weeks before the car arrived.

Congrats! Come on down...

First of all...CONGRATS! I just picked up mine last Saturday. She's awesome. I did really appreciate the red satin cover they had on her.

I noticed you were in Texas...why don't you come on over to my Sky party on July 14? It will be a lot of fun! We can celebrate your Sky homecoming as well as Hollywood's (mine).

My thread: HELLO HOLLYWOOD! All Central Texas Sky Owners Invited!!

Miles of smiles to you!!

I just went to go check mine out - this is exactly the problem. Good post! I'm gonna let my dealer know that my B pillar is not lining up when i bring it in instead of just telling him i have a seal problem.

Have the same issue with my Redline. Here's the key...after you raise the top and climb inside, before you latch it, lift up and slightly forward with the top. This will seat the B-Pillars properly in their respective alignment holes and eliminate the problem.

I just make sure I push mine in the holes before I get in and latch....problem solved. If you think about it, they "spread out" when putting the top away, so by design they will always go in that direction when bringing it up.. I just made it a 5 second part of the procedure and done.

I have heard that someone that went on the factory tour showed a tech and he basically pushed the pillars in and bent them in some. I do not recommend doing that, but that is how much this is not a "science".

Just, Roll down the windows, pull the top straight out of the trunk, then push the pillars into the slots, then go inside and latch, close the trunk, click in the buttress's and done. It is part of owning a SKY. Glad I could help!!
