Getting Your Saturn Sky Forum for discussing the process of ordering/tracking/buying your Saturn Sky. Ever wonder what a VOMS is? How about an "image", or how cars are allocated? The answer probably lies within.

Inventory date.

The new GM incentives plan came in this morning for $1500 off Skys that were in inventory as of 1/22/08. How can you tell if a car was in inventory or not? I wanted to pick one up at the local dealer today or tomorrow but would like the additional incentive discount.

I could ask the dealer, but they have tried to pull a couple of fast ones on some accessory pricing ($550 for the cold air intake, $1200 for the exhaust, I told them to check the Saturn webpage and the prices listed there) so I do not fully trust them on that.

Wow, that's alot to purchase/install those parts. Neither one is that difficult to do. As for the inventory question, in this case I would ask to see the receiving report for when they got the cars in if you don't trust them. Their terminology might be different, we use receiving reports in the military).

There are several people on the forum who work at dealers, they could tell you the specific report to ask for.

Unfortunately that was not even an installed price. $2200+ with install.

I tried going through my GM contacts as I am a supplier but no luck. I'm just going to have to drive down there see what the deal is. It seems this Memorial Day sale thing is a little vague as you have no way of identifying which vehicles are eligble when searching around the dealers inventory. I have a bunch of dealers in a 50 mile radius with stock, but who has one that qualifys?

Kind of like a shell game.

I'll post back if I have any luck.

Where are you located? I went to Saturn of Hempstead (NY) and they were wonderful with the pricing. They had me locked in at one price and the day I went to pick it up (almost a week later) they had the $1,000 sky redline/manual incentive which they called to see if I was eligible for and took the additional money off the car.

I think it is going to depend on what they have on the lot and whether you are flexible with your options, color combinations, and transmission type.

I was about to do all that then I got smart and bought a used one. 2007 I am sure there are 2008's for sale now. I was going to pay 37K D/O With the CAI, and Spolier. Got the same thing I was looking at in a 2007 with 2K miles for 25K or 27K D/O TT&L a savings of 7K off the sticker and it still smells like a brand new car no dents dings or scratches.

So $1200 is not such a good deal when you will loose more than 10K in less than 6 months of ownership.

People when they get the car either hate it or love it. It will either grow on you or you will hate it. So there are plenty of 2007's and 08's with super low miles that will save one an easy 10K or more.

I totally disagree with that statement. I paid just over $25,525 for my 07 NA purchased Aug 06, 2 months or so ago was offered 19K-20K in trade for 08 R/L @ my dealer. That is only a $6525 hit and it was 18-19 months old, not 6 months. As for used cars, will never buy another one, all you usually get is headaches from the previous owner.. (age dependant of course, the older the worse it is). You also rarely get an accuarate maintenance history, especially if the owner does it and not the dealer.. Finally you never really know how the car was treated, example, unauthorized or illegal modifications. No siree, only new cars for this dude..

Well, it was hard to get an answer and things just didn't work out. Memorial Day sale banners all over the place but no one understood what it meant. I am going to wait and look at an 09 when the time comes. I heard they may have body colored window frames and trim available for those.

I would check with the other guys on the forum that went to Mecca. They would know about the colors and trims. I thought the only difference with the '09 model was the inclusion of bluetooth. Although I could be wrong.

Got one better. We paid $23700, or so 2 years ago and were offered $21000. It's like driving on interest payments...

Doesn't the dealer invoice show the date the vehicle was delivered to the dealer?

Not sure on the invoice. It's too late now and I missed BA's post. I'm going to wait and see if something better is offered tomorrow. If so I will be bringing one home. If not, I guess it wasn't meant to be at this time.
