Getting Your Saturn Sky Forum for discussing the process of ordering/tracking/buying your Saturn Sky. Ever wonder what a VOMS is? How about an "image", or how cars are allocated? The answer probably lies within.

longest two months of my life

I got a call today that my Sky Redline is at the dealer!! That was the greatest thing I've heard in a while. There are a couple of problems.

1 My dealer in in my home state of WI
2 Im stationed in NM
3 The weather in WI is horrible from what I hear
4 and last but not least. I cant go home on leave until May meaning my car will have to sit at my parents house in WI for these two months

Soooo close...yet so far away. Ill get pics up as soon as I can.

I went through a similar thing last summer. I ordered my car from a dealer in San Jose. Back then we got weekly updates here about the status of the vehicle, so after six weeks or so I knew it had shipped. Because of the vagaries of rail transport they couldn't tell me exactly when it would arrive and we had a trip planned to Michigan. They called me three days before the trip and told me the car was ready, but I couldn't get down there, get the car, and get back. So it had to sit at the dealership (in the big glass 'bubble' at the front of the show room) for two weeks before I could fly down and get it.

In the end the wait made it better. I was about to come out of my skin when we got close the to dealership, and the drive home was sublime: My wife and I cruising up the pacific coast back to Seattle.

You'll have a challenging wait until May, but the drive home will be great. Make sure to *not* take the most direct path and get off the freeways some.

Oh, and post pics!

I went through the exact same thing last year. My car got to the dealership in Indiana in June, and I was stuck in Alaska in the Army until my ETS date in August. The wait just makes it that much better.

Congratulations on the arrival. The wait is worth the pleasure you will experience the first time you take the RL for a spin.

Im sure itll go by fast, I am going to be pretty busy the next couple of months. Its just wierd that Im going to dump 10k on it and make payments, all without being able to see or drive it. Oh well Ill get my fill driving it from Wi to NM. So are these cars comfortable on long trips? I sure hope so.

Just got my new RL a month ago, I've only put 900 miles on her, but I'm sure having fun. I have the Silver Pearl with the red and black interior, 5 speed, monsoon sound with xm (how great is xm). You'll love to cruise, guaranteed.
