Mine is now 4B00 - Yeah..

My Redline went to 3800 (Produced) on 6/30/07 which means it was built before the July 4th shutdown. It is now in status code 4B00 (bayed) waiting for other cars to load up on the truck. Keeping my fingers crossed it starts traveling on the truck soon. Look forward to joining everyone as owners.

Here is the report of its progress so far in case anyone is interested in timings and flow of the schedule.

This is great info for people who say "I ordered my SKY today." We always ask -- do you have a 6 digit number and what is your Status Code.
Folks as you can see from Devicespy the order went 1100 on June 6. That is actually when Devicespy "Ordered" the car -- now he may have been on a list since Christmas.... but the order was accepted June 6.
Now when a dealer says "Oh it takes 6-8 weeks" -- he is right: From 1100, not from when you get on the list. This is why knowing how many allocations the dealer gets and where you are on the list is SO important....

Looks like Devicespy is on target for 6-8 weeks (from June, 6) Any fingernails left??

Hi Rick:

You are absolutely right now. I specifically asked the dealership if they had an allocation for a Saturn Sky Redline. They said they had 2 right at the point I was considering buying the car which was May 30, 2007. I then said I would order one and signed a purchase and sale along with putting down a deposit. He then called and asked if I didn't mine that it would be a 2008 model. I said, not a problem. They were so very helpful all along the entire process. Still a few finger nails left but definitely pumped about it getting built.

OMG! I put my deposit down May 18th and my order went through on 6/6/07. I'm now at event code 3000 before the shutdown. If my progress goes simular to yours, I could have my car by the first part of August! The polish is gone but I still have the fingernails...they are the next to go...

how did you get your updates on your car being produced. That is the road block I am having right now. I called the number from the thread from previous and got sent back to my dealer and then the guy at my dealer who does the ordering there told me historically 6 months and i questioned him on this using the data from how you guys are recieving yours and he changed his info to my car is schedualed to be built in in August. But I had my order in the middle of May. Should it not be produced sooner than August like everyone else?? Should I call another dealer and see if they can run my order number for me and tell my status??

Hi there new guy!

I would send Deluke a private message. Maybe since some folks have received their cars she might have some room for one more? It's worth a try. My dealership wouldn't tell me anything either. Kathy's dealership seems to realize that following the process really adds to the excitment of getting the car. Good luck and I look forward to talking to you on the forum!

I know its frustrating. I am now on my second round of ordering. Some dealers have no idea what they are talking about, but you may be in for that 6 month wait. I have waited almost 11 months for mine. Deluke is a good sameritan that will give you updates, but sometimes this can make it harder to wait. Ask your dealer how many people are ahead of you and how many allocations the dealership gets per month. They should be able to at least give you this information. You will then be able to determine how much they truely know and how much is just bs.

Don't worry most of us have lived your story.
I was on my dealers list Aug 13 2005 -- took delivery June 15, 2006

Gizmo - one reason why your dealer wasn’t giving you an update is because there most likely was not one. Now that he is telling you August means 6-8 week from when the order went in -- not when you signed the paper. All it means is he was waiting for an allocation for your car from May when you signed on until (I am guessing) late June when the order actually went 1100.
Now you should have a status code. If Deluke can fit you in (she helps so many people) she will be able to give you info each week.
In my case my Sales Manager emailed me every Thursday giving me my status. It made waiting a bit easier...

Well salesman said they put the order in a week or two after i signed it, but was sure that an order came in that was placed 4-5 weeks before mine was placed. He was happy to tell me that because he thought maybe mine could be coming up. This is what is causing alll the odd ball questions to come up. I dont know if they are just dumb or screwing with me or forgot the order all together and just put it in which in that case I will be really off because I already let them go through with the 3000 dollar addon stuff which the sales man did not tell me about when looking at the car and getting the price sheet from him and then when placing the order they bring me out plastic sheet with addons that i dont want then telling me I cant remove them. lol I was like yes you can they are just mark up for you and i dont need them but they would not budge so i just ordered the car anyway.

I went through that with several dealers in the Dallas area. I did find one that would let me order it at MSRP with no "add-ons". If you are still getting run around by your dealer, you may want to drop that order and get one from my dealership. PM me if you want more info.

Good Luck.

Man I am so glad my dealer is not like that.
The day I went in to finalize my order (secure spot in line -- #9 of 10 allocations BTW) it was Jan 19 2006 (not that I can recall off the top of my head or anything ) and my sales guy had NO IDEA what the pricing was. I had gone to Saturn.com and bult my car there. So I said "I have this from the website." The Sales Manager said "Use his, Joe..." That was it -- tough hassle..

My dealer is GREAT!!!! They don't try to force anything on you and sell at MSRP. Of course they do highly recommend the Paint/Leater protectant, but if you say no, then that is ok. This is the 4th car that I have bought from them in the last 5 years. My salesman is awesome (he deals with me without getting frustrated and I am a very high maintenance customer.) The manager is awesome also (Sky Spy this is me sucking up to you in hopes that you can make that train move faster.)

Good deal Gizmo! Of course we won't get one this week because of shutdown, but I look forward to the weekly updates. Have a good 4th!

My dealers sales rep (who is awesome) updated me every week on the status of my car. He sent me a PDF document with the order progress details that I have posted, he also notified me of my new VIN # and also delivered the pricing details with my GM Supplier Discount which will save me a few thousand bucks off the MSRP. Hope this helps in some form or fashion

Bob

My experience

I put my deposit down on May 7 and the order was placed May 30th. My RL was produced June 18th and is on secondary shipping, i.e. between Chicago and Memphis, as of June 29. The dealership has been very helpful and patient with me. I call at least once a week to see what my status is, even though Deluke gives me the information. BlueSky thanks for everything.
