Getting Your Saturn Sky Forum for discussing the process of ordering/tracking/buying your Saturn Sky. Ever wonder what a VOMS is? How about an "image", or how cars are allocated? The answer probably lies within.

New RedLine Owner

A big hats of to 0% financing. After being terribly disappointed with the Solstice GXP I dropped by my friendly Saturn dealer to give a Sky a try. I had my heart set on the bright yellow Red Line on the showroom floor and after talking some numbers the dealer offered to let me take out a similar model as to not have to move the showroom car. He pulled it around...my jaw hit the pavement...and the rest is history....

Congrats, you're going to be real happy with that RL, at least I know I am with mine. Enjoy the drive and the permagrin.

I hope the disappointment wasn't related to performance.

Yeah... why did you not like the Solstice so much but fell so hard for the Sky?

I am curious about that too.

For me it was a visual thing. I like edges on cars.

Welcome to the forum and congratulations on the Sky. When I first saw the Solstice on the web I fell for it, that is until I looked at the Saturn site. When I saw the Sky it was love at first sight. I must have built it 30 times waiting for them to come out.
Where do you live?

The interior...

The interior of the solstice was really my main complaint. Performance wise I can't tell a difference, but the interior controls just don't seem well thought out. It was almost like, uh oh forgot the hazard lights...drill a hole right there on the dash. I Love how the skys controls seem more "hidden" to me. And the black piano finish is beautiful to boot. The dash on the Saturn didn't seem as high slipped either. I really like seeing the whole hood of my sky as opposed to the limited (at least for me) view on the solstice.

I'm in the SLC Utah area and already put 100 miles on her

Congratulations...your car looks GREAT!

I felt the same way about the Solstice...the interior needs help. I like the center console of the Sky and the added touches that take away from the all-plastic look.

Plus you can't beat the lines...it's the hood that makes the difference between "classic roadster" and "mean-looking baby muscle-car sportster"!

Shhhhhhhhhh your not supposed to talk about the superior interior of the SKY or the much more pleasing lines, or the much more aggressive stance, etc, etc., it is Kappa Taboo

Welcome to the Forum and enjoy!

I also don't like cars that look like they were designed by committee and patched together. I've owned cars in the past where it was obvious the interior and exterior designers were on two separate paths.

The Sky, even with its faults, has an integrated look and consistent design theme.
