New Sky on order!

Hello,

I just ordered my new Sky! This has to be one of the best car buying experiences of my life. Walked in told them what I wanted they said "no problem" we'll send out the order, deal done!

My new piece of heaven will be midnight blue, auto transmission, leather trim package and to top it off the black and red interior, oooh baby! I would have loved the 5 speed, I kept trying to shift during the test drive, but the athirst just won't let me. Dam near got a ticket during my first test drive I know he caught me with the radar, but I backed off as soon as I saw him, he smiled at me as I rolled by him.

But now I have to wait!!

Congrats.

The Hydra-Matic 5L40 is a great transmission. Besides, with the way this baby likes to play on the curves, having two hands firmly on the wheel is a nice safety margin.

Thank you! I am so JAZED about this car!

I haven't felt like this about a car since 86 when I got my Ferio, Drove that car for over 10 years and loved every minute of it. They were supposed to come out with a convertible but killed the line and an year later the Miata came out and people went crazy. I am so glad that the finial came to their senses.

I just fell in love with the lines of the Sky, I have gotten so sick of the rounded off aerodynamic blobs that have been coming out, now finally a car with some kick butt style!

Now I need to start a list of mods to consider, any suggestions? This is going to be so much fun I can hardly stand it!

Alan

P.S. I was completely surprised that my insurance company don't consider the Sky a sports car. After all it is a Saturn.

Just got off the phone with my dealer and my new Sky is on the truck headed this way.
Now I just need to figure out how to hack into the GPS tracking system for the trucking company.

Congrats! Guess the wait isn't that long these days even if you order it. Two months isn't that bad. I waited almost seven months back in 2006/7 for mine.

I'd start with replacing the antenna. It's cheap and looks so much better. Then the Sky's the limit!!

Went in today to fill out all the paperwork in order to take advantage of the $1000 rebate currently being offered. So I guess I am offically a Sky owner I just don't have a car yet. It is still on the truck headed this way.

And I am headed out of town this week so I know it will show up while I am traveling, just my luck!

Alan

Well today is the day. I get to pick up my new ride this afternoon it is suppose to be ready at 5:00 PM!! As expected it arrived while I was in Atlanta, which made that trip seem all that much longer. I'll post pics once I get it home.

Roasted my butt off in Atlanta 100F+ temps, (only saw one Sky (Black) headed south on I-85 in Georgia on Thursday). I get back to Seattle and it is 47F and raining. Now not only do I have to readjust for the time change but the temp as well. Friggin Freezing!! Didn't see any convertables with the top down in the South beautyful sunny weather but just to HOT.

Tried to find a Sky at a dealership in South Carolina to show the folks, but there wasn't a dealer that had any with a 50 Mile radius. Even Charlotte NC didn't have one. We did find a Black Solsitice GXP in the Pineville, NC Sams' Club parking lot that was very nice. The fenders weren,t as rounded off As I remember, it all most looked like it had the Sky's front fender on it.

Have a great day All!

Alan

Hello,

I am now officially a Sky owner!! And I totally love the car. I need to make a few adjustments, but it the coolest thing on 4 wheels. I love the looks folks give it, one guy almost had a wreck because he was looking at the car and not paying attention to the traffic. The Midnight blue w/the black/red leather interior looks total awesome!!

Sorry no pics. Rain storms high winds and it's freezing here in Seattle. I just spent the last week in Atlanta and was dyeing of the heat now I am back to wearing winter coats. I make sure to post pics when the weather improves.

Now i need to ad my chrome Vauxhall logos to the front fenders and remove the GM logos. What should I use to remove the double face tape residue? Any ideas? That should really keep them guessing.

They enen filled it up with gas, well once I remided them of the fact that is. Around $45 bucks for about 10 gals.

Have a great day folks! I am so looking forward to driving this baby. Now it needs a name!

Use a hair dryer to loosen the adhesive on the badges & carefully take them off.

And hopefully Juneuary will pass away quickly. I really miss driving my Saffy.
