Getting Your Saturn Sky Forum for discussing the process of ordering/tracking/buying your Saturn Sky. Ever wonder what a VOMS is? How about an "image", or how cars are allocated? The answer probably lies within.

One Year Ago This Weekend

I remember coming home Friday January 18 2006 and having my dealer call and tell me that he had gotten his allotment of 2007 SKYs and that I was #9 in line. He had hoped that I could order by June/July, What a rush of memories!! I was later bumped to #4 to order.

Any more year ago memories???

January was the first month that orders were being taken by Saturn Dealerships...it took four months for Vin#1414 to arrive....but do the senior members recall the rumors and clandestine pictures that were posted and then the Mods took them off...for over a year, we waited for any production news.

In January 06 I went to the San Jose International Auto show with my Dad as I have been doing since I was 10. I'm 52 and he's 83 and we always have a great time.

Last year I saw a Sky for the first time "in person" at that show. Of course it was a pre-production model and was behind ropes so I couldn't sit in it or even touch it. I decided right then I had to have one. Decided later to wait for the Redlines to show up. Finally got on a list in July, placed an order in November and found out a week ago that my car shipped on January 9th, and should be here any day now.

This year when my Dad and I went to the show, they had a Redline on the floor that was exactly like the car I have coming. This year I got to sit in it, and watch all the other people sitting, touching and just generally gawking in amazement at this beautiful automobile. It was great!

It's been a great year, and with the help of all of you here on this forum I have somehow managed to survive the wait. Hopefully my car will be here soon and I can join the ranks of you Sky owners and drivers. Can't wait to get the car, drive it, and share pictures and comments with the rest of you.

This time last year it was 11 days after having my knee replaced and most of my thoughts centered around oxycontin. Would be another month or so before seeing the Sol and Sky at a car show. The Sol didn't do much for me, but the Sky??? Now that looked interesting, but 177hp? Nah. Was June before I read about the Redline and that's all it took.

It was this time last year that I attended the St. Louis car show just for fun. I was not in the market for a new car. I saw the sky, which I didn't know anything about until that day. By the time I got home I was so excited about the car I googled saturn sky and discovered this web site then I was really hooked. Even though I didn't join the forum until June I looked at it every day. I started the process of getting a car ordered which was harder then it sounds as you all know. I sold my cobra mustang and ordered my sky in april and picked it up in July. I figure finding this web site has cost me close to 30 grand . But I am having such a great time with my car and learning so much from skyroadster.com I wouldn't trade it for anything. The only days I haven't check this site is when my power was off for 4 days, wait I forgot I went to the library 1 day for a skyroadster fix The rest is history, I'm convinced that if I wouldn't have found this site with all the wonderful people I would never have gotten my sky. I thank you all!!

One year ago I was chomping at the bit trying to get in the first 1000 Skys. The dealership did not get an allocation until they had their Demo. So Skip settled on the second Sky at the dealership and it was delivered in May. After the demo and another had been sold....Skip...such is life but you take what is given to you in life....

Man, time flies when you're having fun! It was Jan 7 2006 that I sat down with my Sales Manager to enter my preferences into the system. Then the wait for an allocation began. I was the first order placed in my dealers system.

It seems to me that now having my SKY since Mamy that I have forgotten the agony of the waiting - funny how that happens.
