Getting Your Saturn Sky Forum for discussing the process of ordering/tracking/buying your Saturn Sky. Ever wonder what a VOMS is? How about an "image", or how cars are allocated? The answer probably lies within.

OPTIONS when ordering SKY

Premium Trim Package $750.00: 2 Questions my dealer can't answer yet. (I've got $500 down) They said by the middle of March when I'm called in to actually ORDER my "yellow" SKY, they should be able to have firm answers.
1) What does leather inserts actually mean? I want FULL Black leather seats and did not see them listed. I have seen the show version & photos with the red "insert" but the rest of the seat was leather. Right?
2) What does it mean by Metallic Sill Plates? Where do they go? Can it be DELETED from the Premium Trim Package? More Chrome on yellow...yuck

I think the leather inserts are just part of the seats and the rest of the seat is that faux leather. That is the impression I've gotten anyway. And I'm not entirely sure but I think the metallic sill plate might be the part that wraps around the shift knob, the console maybe? That is just a guess, perhaps some knowledgeable gentleman can shed light on this?!

the metallic sill plate replaces the plastic one that you see when you open the door of a car and look down... back in the old days they were all metallic LOL some call them scuff plates to keep from scuffing the paint when entering and exiting the car... they also help hold the carpet in place.
yes the leather is just on the seating surfaces, just look at the two toned seats, the part that is not black is the leather.

So much for full leather seats I guess.
Door Sills I understand, did not recognize their terminology & I've seen pics around with chrome trim on the cars Exterior openings and did not want that!

Option--Trailer Hitch Ha!

As a joke my husband keeps asking where is the trailer hitch option. Our motorcycles all hold MORE then the trunk space on the SKY. We don't even know where to store our helmets when we begin our new hobby of SOLO Autocross racing. I guess the passenger will have to hold them or we will drive two vehicles. No way am I going to put an ugly luggage rack on. Only getting the roadster for fun. Have other vehicles for practical use.

18" Wheels

All spec I read say 18" is standard. Have not seen 17" as an option

I'd be willing to bet that the metallic sill plates are more of a brushed aluminum rather than a chrome.

If you want to get rid of the metallic sill plates I am sure you could find someone on here that is not getting the premium package to swap the black ones with you.... just an idea..

skyman is exactly right about the sill plates and you would rather them be brushed aluminum over chrome, chrome will chip and rust not to mention just ask any hotrodder chrome is cheap when compared to the price of brushed aluminum.

We have companies working on trailers which would imply hitches over at the Solstice forum. I want one myself since I have a track day trailer I want to tow.

Excellent idea! The black would look better, I think. Thanks for the clarification on what the metallic sill plates are!

Arrival od Skys

I was told by a factory rep yesterday (the 11th of Jan) that if ordering a manual you could expect April and an Automatic you could expect May. Prodcution has stared and Saturn wants to have enought to meet dealer demand?

Do you think this is supposed to be the Metallic Sill Plates? I am not sure if the small metallic strips qualifies it as the sill plate

That's it. The Solstice one is just plastic.
