Produced! 3800! With no options???

I stopped in my dealer today and he looked up my order - wow 3800!

Hmmmmm - there was something odd though. There were no options listed on my order. Just a period in the option field. Could there be something wrong after all this? There was another car in there also at 3800 and it had options listed? Anyone have any idea what's going on? GM was off today - they are gonna check tommorrow.

Well, no responses? Non from my dealer today either! Now everyone is off for the holiday.

Just finished listening to a phone message left on my answering machine. My salesman said the GM looked up my order and it is all OK. The new system can give false info from time to time and cannot be relied upon. After pulling up the order a different way, everything was OK.

Turk, won't it be cool to be one of the folks who owns one of the first 10,000 Sky roadsters built? I was just "imaged" yesterday, but they already gave me a TPW of June 26. My order number is all letters, no numbers though. I thought I would be fine once the car gets ordered, but there have been little improvement in the Sky fever.

The GM at our dealership entered it into the computer just after they switched over to the "new" computer system. I guess that was about 4-5 weeks ago. We were next on the list at the dealership. It must have imaged or got picked up imediately. I don't know the details as no one at the dealership was talking. Only recently did the GM give my salesman the ability to look up the orders for their customers. Things have since moved on quite fast.

Here is a way to decode the whole VIN number from http://www.autoinsurancetips.com/vin.htm :

In later years it is reflected in 17 digit characters. It displays a car’s uniqueness and heritage and provides a form of factory to scrap yard identification. They are as follows:

• 1st character- Identifies the country in which the vehicle was manufactured.

• 2nd character- Identifies the manufacturer. For example; Audi(A),

• 11th character- Identifies the assembly plant for the vehicle.
• 12th to 17th characters- Identifies the sequence of the vehicle for production
  as it rolled of the manufacturers assembly line.

9th digit in example above 1 – Check Digit ( character is determined by a formula to make sure that the VIN is a valid VIN)
7 – 2007
Y – Wilmington, DE
12th – 17th digits in example above 103022 – Sequence Number for Vehicle
