Getting Your Saturn Sky Forum for discussing the process of ordering/tracking/buying your Saturn Sky. Ever wonder what a VOMS is? How about an "image", or how cars are allocated? The answer probably lies within.

Reaching for the Sky

I have been lurking this board for a while as ispysky but since im longer spying it and instead buying it, this is my new name-o.

I just picked up my new Sky today after 3 months of waiting and going to 2 dealerships finally finding one that knew about the cars addons.

The car is stock loaded with the suspension upgrade, cat-back exhaust, and CAI intake. I went with the Monsoon upgrade but no multi CD option and the upgraded interior. The sales guy seemed suprised that I didnt go with the spoiler.

When I picked up the Sky, the Sales guy and me were in the car talking about the onstar stuff and this other sales guy parks on the driver side and almost does s slow scrape on my car. LOL. I beeped a few times and my sales guy started cursing at him. I think he was messing with us.

The sales manager who was wearing a very tight skirt wanted to take a drive with me but I told her I had already bought the car.

If you are all looking for a great sound and a little more pep, I think the catback exhaust does the trick or perhaps some Cappacino or Kappacino in the morning.

Thats all for now, cant wait to open it up and see what it can do. I am going to wait for 2 tank fulls before that.

Damn, McLovin. With a new handle like that how can you pass this one up. Oh well. Alexandria is it? I probably live right down the block. What dealership did you run through? I'll drive down and give the lady a ride in my SKY. Sheesh.

Edit: PM me your first name and her first name...dare me to do it....and I'll do it.

Yeah, what gives? Only one tight skirt allowed in the car at a time?

Welcome to the forum (again) and congratulations!

Welcome, Congratulations, you're in for a heck of a ride. I have had mine just short of 2 months and the permagrin is definitely that (unless you're on the interrstate and can't get around those driving 55). Break your car like you're going to drive it, two tanks and then go, you'll have a great time.

Hey All and thanks. The ride is great. Donna is always on the phone and when she asked about the ride the phone rang. She has that ear phone cyborg thing happening. Then some customers came in and badda bing badda boom, no time for chit chat with her. Oh ya, Donna is the tight skirted sales lady. She never seems to eat and the few times I have been to the dealership, she had to be reminded about lunch. So if you drop by, bring a granola bar or something.

The Saturn Dealership I got my wheels from is the new Alexandria one off of South Picket Rd.

Do you drive a black Sky Bogie?

I think Bogie wants to give women rides in his Sky and that lady in the Icon is someone I would even let drive my new car. She is pretty freakin hot.

Love the name McLovin... great to see another 26 year old organ donor from Hawaii on the board. Maybe you can make a liquor run for me in your new ride.

Seriously though, congrats on the new Sky. I'm always happy to see more people from NoVA on the forum. I too have the GMPP cat back exhaust on my Red Line, but went with Eibach lowering springs instead of the GMPP suspension upgrade. I don't remember reading whether or not you had a Red Line or a NA Sky. If you have the Red Line, how do you like the GMPP CAI? I am thinking about installing it on my Sky when I do my intercooler upgrade and am curious to know what you think of it.

Again, congrats on your new ride and welcome to the forum!

PS. I think Bogies avatar is a French singer named Alizee.

I have read that the GM CAI upgrade adds little to even less horse power. I can't believe it's less. I should have requested the dealership to box up my old intake to compare but I royally screwed up on that one. I have had other intakes on other cars and its positioned well, the intake is right in front of the grill. It's polished aluminum and looks nice. Id like to know how many ponies it adds if any. I am not sure why Saturn would not be more upfront about it. Out of my 3 upgrades, I would say the money one, would be the catback exhaust. It does make a noticable difference. The upgraded suspension definitely gives the car more huggables on curvy roads.

I have not opened up the car passed 4.5k RPMs yet but I have heard a blowoff after I left off on the gas. I was unaware this car had a blow off valve feature but it does make that distinct sound.

Oh, ya, I kind of limit the passenger side to one tight skirt sitting in it. Honestly one would be plenty and it better not be a bagpipe player either.

Speaking of blowoff, there's a little mod you can do to the turbo wastegate that should give your R L a little more HP and boost pressure. It's doesn't require any additional parts, etc. Check out the thread 11 Free RWHP (wastegate mod) for more info. I did this mod on my car and haven't had any complaints.

Installed?

McLovin, did all the accessories get ordered and installed before you picked up ur car? After signing the dotted line last week, knowing my CAI and luggage rack weren't installed, I expected them to say "come in (later) and we'll install them for you." Instead, the items weren't in the total; they were only ordered. Now I need to come up to the greenbacks and the time to get them installed. Heck, I spent all my stash money ($20k) on the down.

Travisjames: I can do a the booze run for ya. Just give me a few weeks to grow some whiskers. Ill tell the lady at the counter I drive a Sky and then she will know I am of the age!

Nukeum: The CAI, sport suspension, and catback exhaust were all installed at the dealership. I told Donna that I didnt want the car until all the bells and whistles were installed. They were good with that. In fact I got them to give me the 2.9% and 1k cash back before the car was ready. So kuddos to Alexandria Saturn.

The price of the items DOES include labor. The dealership service department was unclear on this at first. So make sure they dont charge you on that.

Ok I am confused. I was of the understanding that the Redline already has the sports suspension offered by GM.

Now the base does not and this is a 1200 addition to the base, but if you have the Redline the GM suspension upgrade is already installed.

Let me know if I am wrong here.

The Redline does come with A sport suspension but there is an addon to enhance this suspension further. The addon gives you additional support components. I dont know the details on it but can find out.

Its definitely a stiffer ride. You will feel ever pebble and bump on the road. So the increased agility comes at a price.
