Getting Your Saturn Sky Forum for discussing the process of ordering/tracking/buying your Saturn Sky. Ever wonder what a VOMS is? How about an "image", or how cars are allocated? The answer probably lies within.

Ready to order!

I got everything set up and I'm planning on going to the dealer within the next month and a half. I'm wondering what the waitlists are like for the redline.

It depends on their allocations -- if they get 3 a month and there are 12 in line than waiting 1.5 moths will just add to a 6 month wait before your order is imaged. If I were you I'd go now - get one ordered and you'll have plenty of time to get everything set up!
At least find out their allocations and where you'd be on the list.

I put down my deposit for my redline August 18, 2006. I am expecting it to arrive somewhere around the middle of next month

I got my order and $500 deposit in yesterday, (6/30). My dealership gets 3 per month, they said the wait may be around 6 months or more, and that one person got thiers in 2 months. The dealership I went to apparently has won the summit award 4 years in a row. I dont know if that helps them get orders through faster or not (prolly not). Atleast this long wait time will help me build up a larger down payment on top of my 03 mustang I'm trading in. Until then I'll just be hangin around the forums.

My dealer in SE Wisconsin told me 2-3 months about 2 weeks ago. But I've also heard here in the forum that redline production over the Base model has been nearly doubled. If that is true, the wait on redlines could be shorter. I was also told 6-8 weeks wait on the Base at my dealer. To be fair, all orders are currently filled, and there is no one waiting at my dealer. Or rather, there wasn't 2 weeks ago.

I got all this info back when I heard about my raise. I'm still waiting for the whole raise thing to kick in ( and to find out the amount ) so I can actually budget and see if I can afford to order right away.

You say that the dealer gets 3 per month, but how many people are currently on his waiting list ? That will GREATLY affect how soon you get your car.

Once your order is really IN (meaning "accepted by GM", not "sitting on the dealer's desk"), you should only have about a 3 month wait (maybe less).

But until you have your 6-letter GM order number, you're like a guy at the bakery who didn't "take a number".

That sounds like a good base for an acoustic guitar song.

I'm glad my current co-worker used to be one of the salesmen at the dealership I went to. I'll talk to them and see how many people are ahead of me.

You need to know how many are ahead of you. Once you put an order in and it is imaged it takes 2 months (6-8 weeks) -- so that is normal -- but if they get 3 a month and there are 9 ahead of you then you will not ACTUALLY order(image) your car for 3 monthe -- THEN the 6-8 weeks to have it built.

If they get 3 allocations per month then you may only be looking at 3-4 months instead of the 6 months that they told you. Hope you do. The wait is torturous and the few weeks are the worst.

Shoot, at least they know they're on a list. I'm still waiting on a "promise of a raise" that still has not become any kind of reality. Supposedly we were to have the one-on-one by end of this week...well, nope...so now, right away next week is the word... we'll see how that goes. Empty promises and guarantees get old real fast on the heels of watching a good friend get fired without a good reason. I'd like, at some point between now and the rapture, to find out if my raise will be enough to allow making the deposit and ordering my little bit o' permagrin. Sorry...just venting some frustration. Doesn't really have anything to do with the car even...
