My SKY shipped on 3-14. I expect it to be at the dealer in the next week or two. Whether it makes it to my driveway is entirely up to my ability to convince the dealer he should sell it to me at (or close to) MSRP without the $5,000 premium. Otherwise, I may have to walk.....

from what I understand Saturn can't add a dealer markup on the car. I am #2 on the list, and I am thinking september delivery (I want auto and red interior)

Not true! They can add any markup they want to!

General Motors Saturn cannot tell a dealer what to charge for a vehicle.

That is why it is called a, "Manufacturers Suggested Retail Price." MSRP.

If a dealer tells you that they are getting 2 per allocation and you are number 6 - what do you think the wait time is? May? June?

I would think that would be just about right! That's assuming 2 allocations a month. That would be for getting an image allocation and being able to order your vehicle.

Then, comes the waiting game.

I was ale to pick up my sky today. It just might be 1 of the first in Illinois. I couldn't belive how great it looked in person.

Who knows, I placed my order on Sept. 12 2005, the only thing I get from the dealer is hot air, I have an order # but nothing else, I agree that an out fit as big as GM & Saturn can't come up with better answers, I can't understand why this whole thing has been such a secret, am I buying a military Jet or a car?

OK, here's why you can't find out. The system was not designed like Dell where you build a car (in Dell's case Computer) and then you can "Watch it be built" online (the dealer also doesn't know this). Cars are built when they are built, this whole you order and it doesn't go to be built immidiatly is normal. The problem is that 99% of the time people are not building cars but buying off the lot or the dealer is trading one of their lot cars with another dealer. Cut GM some slack the system is not designed to give you the information you want.
