But make sure you got em and you can show em!!! I cannot wait to hear the details of picking up the car. That is my favorite part of the forum...when people get news about their cars and best of all when they get to pick it up!!!

Man, you guys crack me up!

update: Jammed on back to town from work and went straight to the dealership. And there it was.

you know how everyone keeps saying "pictures dont do it justice"... so true.
it was awesome, but... no time to PDI so they are doing it now. I'm back home waiting for the call that its ready.. should be in an hour or 2 from now.

the #3 guy to order car came in on the same truck. Red with tan top.

anyway, I have a few pics of the car before PDI and will post and report back after my first drive. Gotta run.

and thanks for all the kind words!

Sweet!

Nice of them to stick a "NO Front License Plate" note on the dash.

Wow - I was out of town Wed - Fri afternoon, and lots happened. I don't blame the dealers for not giving out ETAs. Yesterday our train ETA for Milpitas began w/ 6/1, then went to 6/2, then to 5/28 and now rests at 5/29! Of course, we'll take it. Now to read on and find out how to best liberate our SKY once it reaches the rail yard .

Sweet! I can imagine the buzz at the dealership with both arriving today. Did your RR connections help #3 get in sooner?

Great pics. I hope we can get in and see ours before they clean it up, too.

Perfect timing for the 500 mile break-in drive weekend. Looking forward to your next post.

ETA changes again for our rail car

Went to sleep last night with a final check of train's progress. It was stopped in Wyoming and the ETA (due into Milpitas CA rail yard) was about noon Monday. Unfortunately, it is still sitting in Wyoming and the ETA now shows Tuesday about 7 AM. I called UP and nice gal said it will be underway again today at 2 PM our time.

She said once it arrives, the UPRR notifies CPC Group to come and get it! I know bigdog had an experience of delays at this point; sure hope we don't end-up with any excitement or delays. We are soooo close now.

We'll think good hopeful thoughts: It worked for USMC! Of course, he will be buying half the railyard steaks. Probably should just pack up the webber and a half cow and grill em on site!

OK so much for calling UP direct. No complaints as the car began moving again this AM a few hours ahead of the time I was told. Departed Baxter, WY, a few minutes ago. And our ETA is back to tomorrow, late evening. Crazy thing is it comes right through Sacramento - OK, so maybe not such a good plan to try an interception, huh!

Jack's Sky arrived in Milpitas. Trace shows "Constructive Placement" @ Milpitas (N. CA) @ 7:20:00 this AM. Roughly a hundred miles separates Elk Grove's lot from the Milpitas UPRR yard. Happiness is spending a last day or few Skyless . Crossing fingers the purchase process is smooth, relatively painless, and soon!

How long a trip for this leg? Our Sky sat loaded on a rail car in Wilmington for several days before heading out to Lordstown OH's mixing center. There it was moved to another rail car, the one it remained on for the rest of the journey. It was already on the first rail car back on 5/17. It arrived at the West Coast train destination today 5/30.

almost there!!! mine went from "constructive placement" (pulled into main yard) to "placed at industry" (the railcar was moved to the "automotive" section of the yard. I guess the yard is divided up by type of industry for unload)

it was then unloaded from rail, bayed in lot, loaded on truck.
when it shows that your railcar is empty instead of loaded, thats when its time to call the UP guys and offering up "lunch" money. They can mark your car "HOT" and it will get priority.

hope that helps.
