The waiting is the hardest part...

So, after I fretted over the white versus the red, thinking I'd have to choose IMMEDIATELY since I thought delivery would be Monday or Tuesday of this week, I'm now into Thursday & no Red on Red Redline. My salesperson has been great throughout, dealing with an OCDer like myself. But I'm DYING here, people. I want my SKY!

If they build it, it will come, right?

Yeah, I know. The last 3 days are the hardest.

Just don't be so excited to pick up the car that you forget to give it a complete inspection. There is a checklist on this site somewhere for things to look out for on delivery. It helped me quite a bit.

Just do a search here for "delivery checklist", you should be able to find it without much trouble.

Be sure to post pictures when you get it.

You made the right choice of colors.

I think that makes you number 4 on the forum with our color combo.

Yeah, I've checked your pics out quite a bit trying to get an idea of how it will look. I'll definitely search for the checklist.

About pics...I've tried to upload 2 that are still just 'Image Pending Approval' in my gallery. Anyone know what I should do differently? I want to make sure I can post pics when it does finally arrive!

Try waiting 18 months, then complain, few weeks or a few months is nothing, the original first wave of sky owners had to wait a long long time,,,,,, A LITTLE COMFORT,,,,once you own it, you willllllll LOOOOOVVVVEEEEE it.......

It actually looks better than the pictures. Those pictures came out a bit washed-out...it was very bright and sunny that day. I was in kind of a hurry, as there were a few people who really wanted to see pics of the combo.

Don't worry, you'll love it.

I know I've got it made compared to the pioneering Sky owners, since I ordered on 4/19 & could possibly take delivery this week. It's just that they told me it would be here 5/26 & now it's been 3 WHOLE DAYS!!

Keep in mind I'm a little punchier than usual from taking the Regulation part of the CPA Exam this morning.

In the beginning ....

for us ole timers ... we would gather on this forum and share rumors, any information and more rumors. Dealer's did not even have cost, colors or option facts. Hell I would print out inside information found on this forum and bring it into the dealer. They in turn created a three ring binder to share with walk-in customers. This forum was the source!

That in turn is what bought strangers across the nation together to share mods and organize cruises with a fun overture. This closeness has spread over the sea's to other Kappa owners now. But in the beginning ... we cried and bumped into each other every evening searching for answers. Then came the list of who in America, what region of the country, was getting their cars and who was getting the most delivers.

My sky is in my garage in WI and I am in NM. Knowing you have it and not being able to drive it is worse than waiting for it to be built. I havnt even seen my baby yet.

You mean it left the factory this morning? If that is true, then you probably still have a week (maybe even 2 weeks) to wait.

Mine sat in a transfer yard in Fort Worth for about 4 days.

It really depends on how many cars are getting shipped in your direction at the same time. At each stop along the way they wait until they have a full railcar/truck before they make the next leg of the journey.

Of course, you could get lucky and get it quick. Good Luck.

I'm crossing my fingers since it's only a 7 hour drive from Wilmington, DE to Cary, NC that it's not hitting a rail car or transfer yard...that it's on the truck & making good time.

There once were members here who could tell you exactly the path the car would take, but it seems that most of those people have moved on.

I can tell you that even people who lived in Delaware near the plant had to wait a while for their cars to go through the whole shipping channel. It is very unlikely that they will just put your car on a truck from the factory.

Odds are that it will take at least one or more train rides. The real question is how long will it delay at each stop, and that all depends on whether your car is the last one onto a full railcar, or the first one onto an empty one.

As I said, my car sat in a transfer yard for several days just 40 minutes from me, waiting until a truck was full.

Sorry, but if it was just shipped, then it is not likely that you'll have it for next weekend, though the weekend after that is certainly possiible.
