Anyone for Breakfast Next Sunday...Jersey
This does not have to be an event...just a get together of the locals...just let me know if we have any takers...and if someone has a special place they want to meet...just raising the flag....Next month is the big get together and so I thought this would be subtle.

My interior is in shambles while my handles and center console are getting recovered by JPM. I also am still debating about getting the speakers and amp installed while the car is ripped apart. So I'm pretty much out as well.

I was talked into visiting a Waffle House in Florida once when I was 22. It was the most terrifying dining experience of my young life. Between the decor, the sanitation, and the clientele, I was on edge and ready to bolt for the door as we placed our order. That's when things got worse.
Just after I promised to mutilate my friend Brian for making me go there, the power went out. Everyone but the cook froze for a few seconds, then the toothless waitress came around and started putting candles on the table. The cook kept on doing his thing and we really couldn't see to get out, so we just sat there as the locals started whooping it up. With no idea what was going on around us, and unable to see if anyone (or anything) was coming our way, I sat frozen in horror. Eventually our food came, and I decided that the low light was probably a positive thing- at that point I wasn't interested in seeing anything else inside the Waffle House. We scarfed down our food as no food has been scarfed before or since, threw down way too much money instead of waiting for the bill, and got the f out of there. Needless to say, I have not patronized a Waffle House since. Ernest, you made me cringe at the mere suggestion that there be one within 200 miles of my house. Should you ever decide to come North, it will be my pleasure to treat you at the International House of Pancakes. That's as close to a Waffle House as I ever intend to be again. ![]() |

I know what you mean...Waffle House is scary...went to one outside of Jacksonville...like being on the set of Deliverance...menu was actually laminated over the entire table...probably useful to the illiterate, toothless hordes...just have to point to a spot on the table to order your grits
