Eastern Penn. Wine Trail

Here's a great route if you find yourself in the eastern PA area.

http://www.bvwinetrail.com/

Did this in October when my wife and I stayed in Lancaster for my birthday. Good wines, twisty roads, lots of fun.

If you do, my wife and I will join you only if we can stay over night at some hotel.

There are a number of places you could stay. There are some really great bargains at hotels in Delaware on weekends. I would suggest the DuPont Hotel in downtown Wilmington. It is a very classic, regal hotel and you can usually get it cheap on the weekends (mostly a business-oriented hotel). You would be just south of the wine trail, basically on Route 52.

Blue Sky - I am definitely interested in the wine trail. I would stay for dinner, but I don't know about staying overnight - romantic B&B's aren't all that fun for the single set.

I will work up a modified wine trail map to add more twisties to the route and work with a local hotel or B&B to see if we can get a group rate.
We should shoot for Saturday April 14th, weekend after Easter, or April 28th to insure slightly warmer weather.

Currently up are:

flyguy115 - ??
ctyankee & Wife- Lunch Dinner & over night
Blue Sky & Wife - Lunch Dinner & no overnight
dengel - Lunch Dinner & no overnight

If you are interested please post and if you would like to stay overnight let me know. Lunch durring the run will be planned. Also, let me know if you are interested in doing dinner as well that night.

Now that we have our RL (just got her today) we'd love to join you in April. We're in Lancaster so we wouldn't need a hotel room.

But before u go off...BBQ over my place...most of u saw the deck...large enough for all of us. Have to have it in the Spring because in the summer, when it gets dark out...those damn insects...u have to go inside the house...

Interested...count me in...but a date must be determined later, much later.

We'd love to but too many things to do tomorrow with the holidays coming up. It's shame too because it's supposed to be 61 last I checked!

Keep us in mind though after the holidays!!

Hey dengel!

We should still go!

We can hang out at the posh clubs at night and hunt out some some really cool contemporary digs for our overnight stays!

Meanwhile the "coupled" people go do their "coupled people stuff"!

I'm in for the wine trail, the clubs, and the contemporary digs, but I reserve judgement on the poshness of anything in rural PA!

Well, you can count me in. But my mom lives in PA, and I challenge you to find anything posh OR contempory in the area.

You'd be better off looking for quaint and rustic!! And the only "clubs" you're likely to find may be hunting clubs, so be sure to get that rifle rack for your Sky!
