Leave Long Island, no less Hamptons/Montauk, on Sunday Evening during the summer?

I will pass on that trip. If it was Saturday I would come in a heartbeat!

Back roads both ways- it should be a lot of fun! Stay over at your dad's on Sunday, and go home Monday night. Now that you're all set, we'll expect you to attend!

If it's a nice day, the rush doesn't start to build until later. If its not a nice day, we'll reschedule.

We'll be out of there after lunch.

The back road thing really works. I do it all the time. I'm even testing it out this Sunday to actually experience the traffic at the same times on a Sunday.

Please save your final decision until after I can report what happens this Sunday.

There is no back roads to Westchester, it all converges to 2 lousy overcrowded bridges. I cannot stay at the old mans house, the wife would not be happy. Appreciate the idea's though!

This from someone who likes to talk smack about people not wanting to leave the island...

So hang out a few extra hours and go home after the rush. Or take the ferry back from Port Jeff. You have options, and I've never known you to pass on an option!

Ok, OK Reed, you know and I know that Not wanting to leave the Island for a cruise early and not wanting to leave the Island after 5PM on a Summer Sunday are two very different things! We will see what happens as it gets closer. If we break off early day I may be able to beat the mad rush.

You're going to beat the rush because we're going to beat the rush out of the Hamptons. The traffic you'll experience on the bridge will simply be regular Sunday traffic, not the Hampton rush. That rush will be behind you.

... and you do "like to talk smack about people not wanting to leave the island".

Time to put up or shut up, right?

This is why we called ourselves a "Long Island" club.

Don't make me come out there!
Runs:

Allentown/Bethlehem
Strasburg
Mike's Jersey breakfast & hilarious after party
Lighthouse Prerun
Buds & Blossoms Prerun
Buds & Blossoms
Shelter Island (less than hundreds of miles, though)
Plant Tour
Mohegan Sun

Other Trips (I'll count these if you're counting NJ and LI):

Virginia Beach twice
DC

That's only 12, and my car is 13 months old, so I guess I'm short one. I'll make it up this month since I have two planned in July. Right now, though, I'm at 92.3%. I guess I don't live up to the standard you've set. Watch your back though, buddy- I look forward to revisiting this subject a year from now!

Why? Is there a hit out on you? Again?

We're not driving to Pittsburgh or Texas, so you should be OK!
