MECCA II - Hotel Thread

Guess what we should talk about here? .... no not that ... where are you staying and what kind of rate did you get. Oh and are folks looking for assistance or recommendations?

What does the Wilmington area have to offer for luxury accomodations?
I'm thinking of going in style!

I found HotelDupont... looks very nice. The 550sq ft Luxury room is $170 a night.

Any others hotels?

The DuPont Hotel is the nicest place in town by far. The weekend rate of $170 is less than 50% of the usual rate on weekdays. Nice place. Parking will be extra but the DuPont Hotel has its own, guarded parking lot as well.

Did you do anything special to get that rate? Did you just say you were visiting the plant? Or are you a GM employee?

OK. I hated the place and thought it was a revambed Ramada. But I want my damn Marriott points, so, I am staying there again. The Courtyard next door is twice as much!

I just checked this place out, there's an "Internet Users" rate you can select during the reservation process. Selecting this option will let you get a standard room with one king size bed or two queen size beds for $107.99 a night.

(302)292-1500 at ask for the GM Plant Tour Rate. This rate is also good if you plan on coming to town earlier than Friday or staying later. If this closes out after 30 rooms, we may be able to secure a second block of rooms.

Thanks, great rate!
I was thinking about staying at the Courtyard Marriott, been there before, but at this rate I decided to book yesterday at the Fairfield Inn for May 8th, 9th & 10th.
