New to the forum...

Hey guys/gals...

A good pal of mine just put a deposit down on a new Saturn Sky Redline at a dealer in Massapequa, New York on Long Island. I think the price was in the low $30,000's. Anyway, the dealer could not give him a "ballpark" date as to when the car will be delivered to the dealer. It has already been a month and he has not heard from him. Has anyone had a similar experience? It sounds like many Sky owners have had to wait several months to receive their new car. What should we expect? And, I am also wondering if this dealer is being aggressive enough trying to get the car he is looking for. Any help would be appreciated!

Thanks.

You, or your friend, should expect a great car after you finally get it. My first Base Sky took six months. My Redline is supposed to only take 2-3 months.

In the NY area there is a longer wait. I have a dealer upstate here that may be able to get one within a few months. PM me for details.

Maternity Time!

My Sky Redline took nine long, long, long months to get here!

On a positive note, it's most definately worth the wait.

Massapequa Saturn Dealership experience

Smoke,
I ordered mine through the Massapequa Dealership. Ordered it in Spring and delivered late Summer (A week ago!!!) as I was told it would. The person I worked with did a great job keeping me in the loop throughout the whole process. I can tell you that the quantilty being delivered now is much better than at Spring time. Initially I was told to expect a year wait as they had some folks on a list from the previous year. Early Summer they started taking larger deliveries on te Sky. Of course they were all spoken for. I ordered a Red Line so I was on the short list. I was 18th when I put in my order and deposit in March. Early July I was 9th and the Red Lines were sloooow at coming in. Mid July I was 6th and my car delivered in August. The dealershipo is in the process of an expansion so that may help them leverage larger deliveries going forward. My advise....bring your dealer lunch next time you go in to ask about the waiting list. Supersize it and, if need be, slip a $100 bill in the bag. Good luck!

Welcome. Any wait seems to long. But well worth the wait.
