Night Prowler and MASSC

dengle and I were talking about a possible event when we were at Mecca II...

Anybody recognize the guy singing in the video?

I'm only going if we can get cheesesteaks as well. Ahhhh I guess I could be convinced to just go see Ahnuld play. After all he is cool enough to drive a yellow sky so that's saying something. Would be nice to do it on a Saturday though so I can have Sunday to "recover".

I'd go. I notice he doesn't have a gig for 6/21 - hope he's coming out to play with us - we have to celebrate Jason's birthday.

FOR THOSE ABOUT TO ROCK....
WE SALUTE YOU!!!

So I see my secret is out!

The history of my secret Rock-n-Roll lifestyle... (Not that ya asked!)

After always singing privately in my car, and at home, and in the shower... and hitting a karaoke bar every once in a while... A few years back at a BBQ I got a little buzzed and started singing along with with a few guys who brought some acoustic guitars.

A few weeks later, they called me asking if I'd play at a Halloween party.

And so started a 3 year run with The Free Beer Band > Home ( DNN 3.3.7 )
It was mostly a hobby... about 6 shows a year. Mostly Beef & Beers, and half the time for free. All classic rock. Nothing past 1979

Last year, the lead guitarist wanted to make some real money with his talents and found a new band. 6 months later... early april, he gave me a call when they needed a singer.
So now its Night Prowler Band > Home ( DNN 3.3.7 ) (eerily similar websites!) Night Prowler has Classic Rock roots.. but we are looking to mix it up.. we just add "The Killers - When you were young". We played it Friday night and 2 people asked me if it was an original.

So... now I am in a "Be wary of what you wish for" situation. We are loading up a schedule. Some good things are happening. And hopefully I can keep the balance between family and band. Family obviously comes 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th... We even have a booking agent for a big AC casino coming out to a show in the next week or two to check us out. (We think its the Friday "947 bar" show)

Soo.... anyway...

IT IS AWESOME THAT YOU GUYS ARE CONSIDERING THIS!!!
I really appreciate it! I've done 5 shows with the new band and a big bunch of local friends havent made it out to see me yet .. so its great you guys want to make the ride to check me out!

The 947 bar is this Friday and I hear its a really nice place... but it is memorial day weekend and traffic could be tough for those traveling far.

Mary's Panhead would be a good bet too as its closer to Delaware... but it is a smaller place with limited parking... where harley's are the ride of choice. Bar seats 40, with tables around sides for another 20-30.

Grog's Bar in Oaklyn (near Cherry Hill) is a good place to go too..

We'll figure a good show to hit.

June 21... yeah looks like we are open then. Hmmmm.... skylands...

If the agent is booking...it is probably the Marina and I know that is alot of fun...the gang will have a great time there...love it there in the summer. Lots of wild women and good food at Trump's Marina....even REED may get a HUMPING.

Ahnuld, sounds as good as most that I've heard lately. Keep going with it, and I'm glad to see that you have your priorities in the right place. Good Luck

Nice Ahnuld! I play drums, it's been a couple years now though, my poor Pearl session series sits next to my SKY waiting for an overhaul.

You make me want to go out this weekend to Sam Ash and pick up some new Skins!

Are there any MP3's or CD's we can check out, the sound on that video is not mic'd real good.

Keep on Rockin' Sky Brother!!

Thanks again everyone! Ya'll making me feel much better about this... On some of the clips I hear, I was worried that I am the next "William Hung" who thinks he has some talent when in fact.... but I do get a lot of good feedback from people....even from strangers in the places I am playing.

Diane... the show on the 14th... ugh...
I am surprised its still posted. We elected as a band to not do that show... just didnt like the premise of it. Sounds more for the amateur guys, and Night Prowler is obviously a group of professionals!
I am checking with band guy who does the bookings to see what the dill-yo is.

Paul (Xmicro)..
There are audio clips on the Myspace site. You dont need an acct to access.

They came out fairly good. Comfortably numb sounds a little quiet vocally in the beginning. Actually though, I'd like to redo them... the instruments are clear, but the Vocals sound garbled. The place we did it at... this was more of a rehearsal room that was mic'd then a tru studio. After the first song, we played it back and I said the vocals were garbled... and everyone said it was because the system in the studio was high on bass for playback. I think I was right! The video may actually have cleaner vocals!

Ricthar: A very fair assessment! I've been doing some market research (hanging in bars drinking beers and watching bands... its a rough job, but..)... anyway, been checking out some bands and seems like there really arent too many good singers out there. I dont need to be a great singer, just better than the bad bands that are out there.

Ahnuld, no need to think you sound like William Hung! You sound great, as does the band. Al and I would definitely like to make the next performance. We'll all be there for you! Come on and let's pick a place!

Okay, my Summer Social Calendar is really starting to fill up.

It looks like I could make it on Friday, June 6th at Mary's Panhead Pub. Other than that, I don't think I am available for any of the performances posted on their schedule as of today.

So how about it? I know it is a Friday night, but what better way to unwind after a long week at work than with your friends listening to some music and having a few drinks? How does Friday June 6th sound for everyone?

Sorry, can't make it on the June 6th date. We're seeing Tom Petty that night. We'll still be rocking!

We played mary's once, about 2 mos ago... we are there tonight...and back again next week on the 6th! Not sure if it was a full moon, or something in the water (could it be alchohol? ) but they really had a great time with us the first time (enough to drunkingly book us back-to-back weekends!).... and, unlike a lot of bars... they had a built-in crowd - which is great!

Diane, If you and the MASSC crew could make it there... SWEET! But its friday in the summer. travel can be tough in joisey, and it is a small place. (geez, why am I being Mr Negative?!?!)

We also picked up a show or two recently. check the schedule later today on the site.
