I was going to attend the NY international auto show this year, it's been a blast in the past.
I was thinking of having sort of a sky meet and then train ride into Manhattan to see the cars and show. Preferably the opening day (saturday).
Ticket prices are :
Adult - $14.00
Children 12 and under - $4.00
So who'd be interested in joining me?

I wanted to go to the show at the MeadowLands, but might be interested in NY show. No can do with the Sky meet, shes put away for the winter. Gotta see how things work out this week before I can commit.

Yeah, but the Auto show isn't until April - you should have released the Sky from prison by then, right?
Antonio - are Solstice's welcomed? I might be interested in going, although depending on the meet location, I might just hook up with you folks in the city.

of course sol's are welcome
as for the meet, i knew it would be hard to do, but thought i'd just throw the idea out there. If not, we'll all just meet in Manhattan then.

Any chance of changing this to day two- a Saturday? I usually can't make it into the city (much less NJ) before 7:30 on Friday nights. If not, I'll just meet the gang at the show.

yeah, it seems more and more that a meet before isn't possible.
I guess everyone will just meet at the show then.

I'm new on this forum... first post. I drive a Solstice GXP... like a stole it.
Getting together with some Sky people to form a club on Long Island, so I thought I'd mosey on over here and take a look around.
I'd be up for the car show, but I'll be at Space Camp with my kid over Easter weekend. April 14th would work... or if anyone is going during the week, I'm up for that too. (Very flexible work schedule )

Welcome to the other side Dan!
I may be able to make the show with you guys, a little far off but I have been to the show every year since 89 or 90!
You know it is about time you made it over here on the other side...Skip... We are funnier over here....Space camp in Huntsville?
Thanks.
Actually it's "Aviation Challenge". Space Camp is the other half, but the one everyone recognizes, so I typically just say "Space Camp" to avoid explainations.
The Aviation Challenge side is mock Fighter Pilot training. You get to fly simulators, learn survival techniques, crawl around in the dirt and kill people during a mock Escape and Evade scenario at night. Followed by a camp fire.
...and we all make smores, of course, EXACTLY like real military aviators do in their training!
It's a blast. You can attend a parent/child weekend with 12 year olds or younger. My son and I started doing this when he was 7. This is our fourth year.
The NY show is great. The javit center is pretty big, and it takes a few hours to actually go around and see EVERYTHING. There's 3 floors i believe and just about every make of car in the world. There's also tents outside that usually showcase aftermarket vendors and custom cars as well. I can taste the dirty water dogs already.......mmmmmmmmm.........I have about 10 each time I go, haha
